2015 was a good year , we did lots of showing, won lots of frilies, started jumping ( and jockey staying on board) , qualified for Equifest and went hunting ! I'm very proud of how well Tessy is developing from a broodmare into a nice little allrounder ! With 2016 fast approaching It's made me think of what I want to achieve in 2016 .... Please share your goals for 2016 would be nice to here others and get some inspiration !

1. Continue our work on canter transitions and picking up the correct leg.
2. Go hunting again ! ( Now im no longer on apprenticeship wage , I can justify the price tag)
3. Continue Jumping , go cross country schooling for the first time..... hopefully stay on board..
4. Go to Equifest and have lots of fun ! ( couldn't care less where we come, Im so happy to even qualify)
5. Win a sash at our local show, we've won lots of cups but never a sash .
5. Go and ride on the beach .
6. Box up and go for lots of long hacks with my friends and their horses.
7. Have a riding lesson on a different horse ( possibly a jumping lesson at some point )

And I've ran out of ideas !!! So come on let's hear your goals for 2016 ? :)

And Couldn't resist a few pictures, the jumping one might not seem impressive but a year ago I would have had a panic attack going anywhere near that jump from a previous bad experience :(. My Tessy isn't the most confident and looks to the rider so its been a challenge but we are getting there.

What lovely photos! Cob's are just the best, cannot best their cuddles! Those feathers are incredibly white!! Think I need some tips from you for my mare!
Best of luck with your goals!

I would like to take my yearling to a county show

oo, yes that would be a good experience !

Thank you ! Yes I am converted by her, never liked cobs before... Thank you ! they take a lot of care as she suffers terrible with sensitive skin.

I have a cob too, and I didn't use to like them but she's an absolute star!

Yes a county show will be great experience, she's been to two small shows now we are upping our game!

I have done some inhand showing this year and am writing about it for a magazine

So my goal is that my ancient 1986 Ford transit box passes its MOT in March or we will be finding a sudden halt to our stories!!

Best of Luck , make sure you post photos when you do !

She looks so much better with all her hair than she did hogged!

Yes I agree , although its such a pain to keep !

Oh well done ! Ill keep everything crossed for you then .

Just to make you envious, Tessybear:

I've always wanted to win a sash too, but haven't been showing in years. I offered to take a friend out for a low key laugh (not having the kit to do it properly any more) and came home with this bad boy :D

I'm considering Equifest too, and if the highland folk are there too, I may do their concours / DTM type class. I'm writing him a DTM anyway at the moment, just for something to do.

For my mare - get back to Gatcombe Festival in the novice restricted championships. Got there on a bit of a fluke last year, I didn't even know the class existed and qualified on the last possible day at an event where the showjumping had caused carnage for all sections but I somehow managed a clear round and was one of only two inside the time xc all day which dragged me up to 2nd and thus qualified. I know I will need to work very hard to get there again and really up my game but that is the goal for her.
For my youngster - To take him to his first dressage show and his first xc schooling providing he is mature enough both physically and mentally.

Lovely pictures of lovely horses.
My goal for 2016 is to get out and about with my girl. Neither of us have competed at a show before. Have just got a trailer, so now teaching her that a trailer doesn't mean a change in home (she has only travelled to move before). Going to take her to the beach, have fun, then try some low level shows.

My goal is to take my welsh d Nico to his first show. Problem is, when hes really trotting I just cant keep up with him. Maybe I should show hubbys section a instead!

There's an unafilliated Dressage show at Felbridge on the 6th of March. My goal is to be fit enough and good enough to do that.

I just want to get back on mine and do a bit of hacking. Haven't ridden since last Christmas, think I may have ridden once in February half term, due to my health issues. Just waiting for some tidy weather to get him out. Not sure how he will react after such a long break but have to do it.

I want to continue improving my horses dressage and get him to elementary by the end of the year. Currently prelim so good luck to us on that one! I however have decided that despite people not believing in me I will get my horse to grand prix level on my own (like as in me riding and training him not pay someone else to do it). But that will not happen in 2016.

I would love to be able to jump him at about 2 ft high around a course in a canter but we shall see. Even if I can do just one jump in control would be amazing but I doubt my coach will let me off with one jump.

Two goals is enough for us I think.

Some friends and I are doing team dressage this year, which is something new. The aim is to teach my mare medium paces and move up to novice. Still have the ambition to get 70%+ at Prelim, which we didn't manage this year. We are close though! Got 68.3. I'd also like to get placed SJ. We've done it several times in the past but didn't manage it this year as we've been coming back from injury.

Tessy looks lovely, I'm glad she's doing well. Best of luck in 2016!
For me i want to do endurance eventually so I'm going to take my horse a few fun rides in the summer to see how she copes with it all. I'd love to take her out and about to different locations to ride, like the beach or forest. I'd like to get some lessons too when the ground dries up.

Good plans all!

Mine is to get another horse and get out and about having some hacking fun and low level comps.

Would also like to get Titch backed and ridden away. He was a bogoff and turning out to be a real solid leg at each corner type, with a cheeky attitude on life, so I'm glad we've left him to grow both physically and mentally :) I think he'll be an absolute hoot :)

Mine is to get out with my 23 year old hacking as she's transitioning to barefoot.... I'm also hoping to buy a new horse to share with daughter and get out competing in dressage and have fun at local level. I also want my mini to come right as we've had a nightmare with locked stifles. Hopefully this time next year I will have 3 happy healthy horses. Mini midi and maxi.

mine are:
find a bit to jump L in and get him out competing again.
move up to newcomers with B and start phasing out the 1.05's (jumped our first NC the other week).
try a foxhunter with B before the end of the year.
do something other than BS with the boys. we've done a bit of showing this year so I'm thinking we may try some dressage next.

my ultimate goal is to find my own place.

2015 - Well lost the old boy, decided what I was going to look for, got the total opposite, 12 year old no known history rescue mare, did all the ground work, then back decided it had osteoarthritis.
so
2016 - get docs to agree to operate, get her backed and then onwards and upwards, just to get on her will be enough if that is all I succeed in 2016 I will be one happy bunny. If I had any idea on how to post a picture of her I would, she is a pretty little thing.

I wish everyone well for 2016 and hope everything you wish for comes true.

For hubby to have an enjoyable season eventing, on his ID mare and hopefully on my TB too after her SI injury 2 years ago.

For 4yo son and pony to have a great season at Pony Club again, and to be off LR by the end (they were doing small bits on their own late summer, but with weather since I haven't let him off at all :( ).

have a few goals for 2016, buy my first horsebox. Very excited about this. Take my home bred to camp in September , she's 4 in March, so hopefully have some miles on the clock by then. Finally, sell a youngster or two.

Tessy looks great, although I don't envy you keeping all that hair in order! How is Dolly doing these days? Are you still in touch with her?

My goals are to get my new girl Cassie out and about and end the year as I am hopefully starting it with a sound horse. I have become hyper sensitive to soundness issues following my experiences with Cam. And of course I hope that 2016 will be a fun year for Cam just being a horse.
