Argh, I literally can not stop thinking about summer!!! I can't wait!
Last night I was at the yard at 5.30 and it still wasn't quite dark, which gave me butterflies because with any luck it means spring might not be too far away now...
(The snow suggests otherwise, but we'll ignore that)

So what are your plans with your four legged ones for the spring and summer? What are you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to my first summer on my fantastic new yard, with lots of shows, BBQs, late summer evenings, etc. And hopefully, all the fun and enjoyment will help my confidence improve so that next winter I can continue hacking and riding with no worries.

I'd like to get Freddie jumping and schooling in a snaffle so that we can do some local jumping and dressage comps over next winter to keep us ticking over.

And mainly I can't wait for all the shows!!!!

Eeeee, I'm SOOOO excited!
What about you??

I am looking forward to being able to hack out after work again, having the jumps out in the field.
I would love to get out to shows again this summer Mainly jumping but will attempt dressage again also

Oh and i will be backing the young one.

Plans...I am finding hard to make at the moment...but I would love more than anything in the world for my lad to stay sound enough for long enough for me to get him back into work again.
If I can achieve this, then I look forward to long walks along the disused railways around us and pottering about the country lanes...that would be bliss!

hopefully to keep my horse sound (she has navicular so sort of dreading hard ground!!) if she stays sound will choose shows very carefully and do some showing and dressage - we dont hack much due to navicular but would be nice to get out and have a potter in some sunshine rather than with 5 layers on!! - Sounds stupid but we actually compete more and do more in the winter!!! (we have indoor school) every summer so far something has gone wrong - ligament first yr, arthritis diagnosed second yr, last summer navicular - so god knows what going to get this yr not much left to go wrong!!! lol. Would love to do some fun rides in spring we love doing those but now navicular not sure we can.

I have only had my horse since Sept and although she is rising 6 she is very green. So I plan on continuing with the lessons to imporve out flatwork.

I Have booked our first prelim dressage for March and hope to have done our first Novice by the Autumn.

I also hope to increase my confidence with some little jumpies (not really my thing but she enjoys it) and may even have a go at some jump cross if I am feeling really brave!!

I am also looking forward to some training endurance rides with her lots of lovely hacking over the south downs and long evenings in the pub next door to the yard!! ( i knew i chose this yard for a reason!!)

More baby growing - foal is due in June ! Whoop :-)

I to have been getting the 5.30 butterflies - it's just nice to see her in the daylight , we've broken the back of this winter now ladies !!!

Ode's, xc & Long Distance Rides anything outside of a menage or arena! - cant wait for everything to restart in March - winter is a bloomin poxy time to have horses!

Ewan, my rising 4yo Welsh, will start doing some local in-hand classes in a few weeks time to get him out and about, and I'll break him with a view to get him sold near the end of summer.

Robbie, my 16yo ex-racer, I would love to keep sound enough to do lots of hacking and maybe go out and embarrass ourselves at the odd dressage/SJ, riding club show etc.

*Hopefully* to buy a new horse and actually get to ride!!

I want to do working cob showing with my boy this year.

Plenty of pleasure/sponsored rides and a beach ride would be nice too.

Oh and loads of XC schooling, we need it!

Seeing my horse in daylight and feeling the warmth of the sun. Being able to ride in a t shirt instead of 3 layers. Not going home covered in mud every night. Being able to poo pick without getting the barrow stuck in the mud. Keeping my wellies on my feet when walking through the mud. The list goes onnnnnnn

Sit around fretting for the arrival of Donks foal - want a Buckerina I keep telling her!

Will get Buck out to do as many CB classes as we can along with a few novice hunters and a lot of local ridden hunter classes to get my confidence up - also want to start having some sideways lessons with him. Might also try a couple of local workers as he seems to think jumping is fun!

Having time to do everything again! I've never been so busy in my life!!

Can't wait for warm, and evening hacks, and putting the neddies out naked!!
Hoping to do some shows with the neddies, working hunter and showjumping, as well as showing. Also wanna try a retrained racehorse class with one of the neddies!!
Also planning on taking my trailer test and buying a trailer so I can get to all these shows!!

Can't plan anything and am totally fed up about it. Having a hip replacement some time in April so am unsure when I will get back in the saddle. Horse is going away on full livery and I am going to be a nightmare patient as i won't see him every day!!!

to keep my horse's suspensory ligament healthy so he can continue to be ridden....if it stays good, then a bit of hunting before season ends, then charity rides, beach rides.....bliss.
fingers crossedxx
if not, then will have to look for another appaloosa, which i am not looking forward to due to bad experiences with people telling porkies in adverts...

Going out to endurance and then flying out to Washington for camp at the start of June, which marks the start of a new exciting part of my life as I'm heading to Vancouver for a year after that

I'm ridiculously excited, I just want these next 4 months to fly by!

Lots of local showing on my new boy and the odd bit of dressage. Looking forward to not covering everything I own in mud and being able to walk in gateways without loosing wellies - roll on summer!!!

It's my first summer at my new arena-less yard which is hacking distance from the beach... Guess where I'll be on summer evenings !!!!
Long evening hacks, picnic rides, gallops on the moors, jumping in the field, dressage comps, hopefully loads of RC stuff (maybe grown-up camp!), NO MUCKING OUT....

Ooooooo I'm getting so excited thinking about it!!!!!

I managed to get out of work early on Monday and got a quick hack in before dark! Fantastic....

Well lado goes off to be restarted after injury on Tues so this summer i am planning to RIDE for the first time in 2 summers!! I can't wait!
