what bad habits do you have while riding?

My hands go flat.... Must keep thumbs on top.

Look at the jump as I'm going over it.

Tongue pokes out lol

Forget what I'm doing.... Although that's due to head injury rather then habit lol.

Where do I start!

When riding out the racehorses but not actually riding work it's usually kick back, feet out of the irons one hand on the buckle end of the reins gossiping job!

On my own - I don't know if I should own up to this or not - I rarely ride with a hat on and I frequently ride in trainers. I lean forwards, I am usually in a hunting seat and I also tend to knock with my feet upon occasion.

I used to ride up to 8 horses a day in Germany, which doesn't leave much time for breaks - I am adept at steering, starting and stopping a horse on the buckle end of the reins, with no stirrups, whilst simultaneously drinking coffee, smoking and chatting on the phone.

I once worked for someone (male) who used to stop his horse, stand up in the stirrups, swivel to the offside and have a wee...

Bad habits

1) looking down
2) blocking with my inside hip
3) 'holding a leaning horse up'... nearly cracked this one but still creeps in with one particular horse
4) getting behind the vertical (I blame this on years of leaning forward and over compensating)

Probably loads more but those are the ones I have to try very hard not to do...
