I got a lovely black saddle cloth from the LeMieux stand with a sheepskin wither pad for £15 - last year I got a white and a black 3/4 sheepskin saddlecloth from the same stand for £20 and £15 respectively because they were seconds - they were each worth £65!!

I also got a gel saddle pad to go on top of the saddle for my prolapsed disc reduced from £43 to £20 as it was an ex display model (slight scuff on back). I competed jumping in it yesterday and it is so beneficial to my back as it absorbs the impact to your lower back, and it sticks you to the saddle like glue! A pair of just toggs jods for £10, a big container of Echinachea for £6.00 reduced from £10 from a kind man who took pity on the fact that I had run out of cash and had only got £6.00 left in my purse (he hadn't got a PIN machine).

I also got a Just Toggs show shirt reduced to £15 - easily worth ten pounds more!

What bargains did you guys get??

Have to say though, if they can afford to sell at these prices the mark ups must be HUGE!!!

with the brass plate on it looks fab will try it on him to dat and take some piccies but what a grreat buy :)
i watched two demo geoff lucket and the rockin horse :)

Missed the Rockin Horse was gutted, but so many people still in there from the one before so no seats. Never mind it'll be on Horse and Country soon.

I got a new black and red headcollar for Lady Bug, new saddle cloth with our names on it for xc next season, Mountain Horse Winter boots, reduced from £165 to £70:D, got them on at work (office) today, to help break them in. Lovely and warm.

Had a lovely time and so did the OH.

I got 3 sets of bandages for £10...not sure why, my horse doesnt wear bandages... haha!
A fleecy rug
fluffy O/R boots...doesnt wear them either...
3 hay nets
and a caldene top.

I worked in the main arena, you may of all spotted me, was one of arena party in the red coats :)

I managed to see a couple of demos ( Eilbergs and Fredericks) and bagged some bargains. Best one was a couple of rugs for a tenner each as they were the last ones :D others included 3 lead ropes for a fiver and 2 fillet strings for a quid :D

Went to a couple of feed stands as wanted to check what we are feeding our 3 (of different ages) would be ok for the winter and by far the best one was the Dengie stall. Wasn't made to feel as though I was wasting her time which happened on one of the other stalls  so a definite thumbs up for Dengie :D

I got some nice Dressage pads for around £10ish, cannot remember. Joules jumper for £30 which wasn't in the joules shop - got a fab schooling whip with the leather bit at the end, as opposed to the tassle that was £16 and a really long lunging whip for £10.

Some boot care stuff, under bandage from premier equine and some herbs that I needed.

God, cannot think what else I brought!! Was looking for a nice bridle with white piping around the browband and noseband but the only few i saw were quite cheap looking, so didn't bother as I wanted it purely for competing in, when I finally pluck up the courage that is.

I had a great day though, love nosing around all the shops. Watched, Maria and Michael. I thought her brother was much better at explaining what he was doing etc, watch a bit of Claire Lilley and watched Mary Wanless, thought that was interesting and Richard Maxwell.

.

Rhinegold do a nice bridle with white piping http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_kw=rhinegold&_kw=white&_kw=bridle

I have one after seeing it on a YHL stall last year, but paid £10 less for it online!

I got a Show sheet for £5, breeches for £15, 2 sets of bandages for £15 (Smelly_horse how did you find 3 for £10  ), a saddle cloth and some ears for the beastie :D

Here's a sneaky piccy of the rug and ears :p :D

I got a mega bargin, Ariat Devon Pro reduced from £179 to £99!!!
I dont actually need a pair as I got a pair in May this year but bought them anyway to keep them in stock, cant afford not too at that price.
My friend bought 2 pairs.
The Rockin Riders display was brilliant.

I got lovely weatherbeeta thermocell cooler was £69.99, down to £39.99 but silly girl sold it to me for £35! - Sssshhhhhhh

And a few other bits.

Agree Dengie were fab as were the numerous stalls I went to to try on hats on my evidently funny shaped head! thank you Ayre Equestrian and Townfields to name but a few - exceedingly helpfull as usual!

Hi Applecart, sent you a pm!
glad you got sorted.
My bargins were, ditto, Blaze showing shirt £5,
Turtle brand horse turnout rug and Tredstep cool socks, socks 3 for £10.
Pink fly ear cover with diamante
Ryedale, pink and navy with pink jods £15 each
Watched Geoff Luckett demo,Claire Lilley, some of the Eilberg one too.

Did everyone think it was as good as 2009?
Still reasonable value for money?
Going in 2011?

Hi Viz beast plate and mesh quarter rug.
New Harry Hall Hat in Brown that I've wanted for ages
PIFF riding over trousers which I've been after for the last 2 years!
Fly fringe
Polar Tech waterproof gloves
Some Bridle decorations as a present

Think thats it. I thought it was very good this year.

I thought the Piff riding over trousers looked good too, we got some hock boots for £10 from the stand, rare find and a bargin!
JC

Well I was on a Trade Stand so shopping was limited to quick dashes! But I still got:

  • Lovely contoured leather girth as a Christmas present for a friend about £25
  • Half price Musto jacket for about £50
  • Some reindeer skin ultra warm gloves (v cheap)
  • Oh and I succumbed to a couple of the iniquitous Joules tops from their sale rail for not very much money

Got home about midnight last night after packing the stall and have been pretty useless all day as am so darn tired! On the plus side we sold lots of stock so its been a good show! :)

wow you all got some great bargains!
I got a couple of lemieux show numnahs reduced to £30 each which I was chuffed with from Horse Health and they even gave me a really nice bag for them :)
Bucas turnout rug reduced to £60
And much as everyone else, a Blaze show shirt for £5, love them.
Will definately return next year, I was contemplating going on both days so I may actually see a demo or 2 as didn't see any this year and Karen Dixon's one on retraining racehorses looked really good. Seemed good value as I preordered tickets at buy one get one free :)

I have no idea ahha! I was jsut going to buy one pair but the man on the stall was like oh go onnn, buy 3 pairs for £10 ahah! It was the stall selling all the treadstep boots and gaiters. More importantly why didnt you come and say hi to me?!?!

No bargains - am not a very good shopper! Mainly watched demos and listened to talks. Karen Dixon was very interesting and the person riding the horses for her was really good, sat quietly and let the horse sort itself out, which is something I really struggle to do.

I got a show rug (h zone) for £5 which is actually lush
medium weight combo stable rug for £35
medium weight combo turnout for £35
fluffy over reach H zone boots for £15 (thought this was a bit of a bragin as just as soft if not softer than eskadron and they are usually £35!!)

wish i had gone to look at the le mieux stuff now as wanted a couple of them and sounds like there were some good deals to be had!

really hope i can go next year and stay a bit longer!

Will deffo go again next year. Was reasonable value for money if you booked on line in advance - £16 instead of £20 and my friend had a 'code' so we got our tickets for £12 each
