I was so suprised we could get so much for so little money! So wondering what horsey bargains youve managed over the years! :)

Sabre Event boots full set for £30 (normally £80 per pair!) from a friend. New Pikeur breeches for £40 off German ebay.

Pretty much every horsey item is a bargain from somewhere, even if just by a small disocunt

A pair of Brogini jodphur boots and tredstep gaiters for free :)!
i forgot my boots at a big show and my lovely mum bought me those and they never ever turned up on her card statement !!!!

Horse number one was my dads bonus :) so foc to me not too sure what my dad made of it :) horse number two was £800 inc transport from yorkshire and is possibly one of the most genuine little horse I have ever had the pleasure of working with . Rambo wug -£40, my kings saddle -£150 inc leathers, stirrups, cover, numnah and girth - second hand but absolutely pristine and a frank baines weymouth with bits and both reins a grand total of £15.40 on e bay

Monty - although he was 17 at the time, best £2000 ever spent i think. he took me from 70cm to 1m10 bsja and is still going strong taking me round hunter trials at the age of 20! :D best schoolmaster ever. bless him x

3 pair of expensive jods from my old boss for free!! 2 comp and 1 work! A style saddle in exchange for some work mum did. 3 nearly new rugs from a friend for free!! Most of my comp stuff that i had for Song when we started eventing was from a friend that had given up and most of its still going strong! I like free!! I did pay for my Dressage saddle but was only £150!

Also today bought a brand new 5 point BP from £60!

Think Buster would be the best bargin horse wise - yet to show true from but should be FAB next year!!

All my horses. My old grey horse was £1500 and he was an absolute cracker (sniff sniff). My lovely black horse that I bought to replace him was £2500 and I could not have bought a sweeter more genuine horse for that money.

H - cost us the equivalent of 600 pounds!! He will jump a course of about 1m10 but we have popped over an oxer of 1m25 about 5 times in a row!! :D And he's now turning into a dressage pony and scoring very consistently in the 7's :D :D I bet when i got him noone thought we could do anything like what we are doing now!!

Saddle - bought it on ebay UK for 60 sold it for 300 to someone over here!! They offered and I didn't refuse!

Ohhh I think my BEST bargain is my RI :D :D :D :D I look after her son (who is an angel :D) for a few hours a week and she gives me a lesson!!! So the more I look after her son the more lessons I get!! And she also comes to all my competitions with me!! She has changed me and H sooooo much, and I wouldn't change her for the world!

And my new boy :D

All my horses i've ever owned have cost less the £650 :) and all turned out to be wonderful, have just spent a tiny, tiny sum buying my new horse who am hoping will turn out okay! Brought a lovely little dressage saddle for £50 hardly used. Also my two sets of xc boots one lot costing £20 for a full set of N.E.W ones used twice and my leather set for free :D

Probably Bronson - £750, taught me so much and gave me the happiest five years of my life, brilliant pony. miss him so much :(
Then we got him a winter turnout that was supposed to be £100, reduced to £60, then never got charged for it :p

My 2 TB's are my best horsey bargains!!!!! Millie was £400 from the meat man, she has gone on to fly round 1*'s easily, and is now the worlds best mummy!!!!! And Jem who was £100 who has won 2 BE events and been placed in most of her others!!!!!

Tack wise my brand new monoflap Black country saddle for £500 has to get pretty close (normally £1400!!!!) unfortunaltly it is a rather distinctive orange colour!!!!!!!!

Oh dear. I feel as though I have been shafted on everything I've ever bought!I was feeling pleased with myself for having got a nearly new pair of ariats for just under half price; and I don't even know if they'll fit till they arrive!

I did once buy a Rambo wug for about £70 from ebay, use it for a winter then sell it the next year for more than I paid for it :)

*wanders off to trawl ebay for anything below 50p*

Almost verything I ever buy comes from ebay and has always been approximately a quarter the usual price e.g. KK Aurigan bit £32.00, Cavallo breeches £35.00, Caldene Hacking jacket £45, Double Bridle, Jeffries £30, Assorted rugs £15. - 70 , New equine wearboots £15, Dressage reins £12. New Med Full and half Sheepskin Numnahs £25- £50. I also buy all my supplements from ebay too. Couldn't manage two horses without relying on my bargain buys.
I am shocked at how much some of my friends spend on horse gear just because they go to tack shops all the time and never hunt around for a bargain.
I got a Myler bit at a horse boot fair for a tenner too.

My ginger boy :) He was £300 for a nice, sound, talented ex-racer who's now worth muuuuuch more although completely priceless as far as I'm concerned :)

I got a free set of mark todd tendon and fetlock boots brand new, and a pessoa bridle, also in mint condition (not sure if it was ever used or not) when I bought my saddle. The saddle itself only cost 200 or so..fully fitted :)

Plus a full set of SMB's plus matching overreach boots for £3.

Ooooh and veredus piaffe medicine type boots, also full set...also £3

Gracie, as an unbacked rising 5yo at a stud sale for equivalent of £850-£900 12 years ago, bought as a pet turned out to be an int grade A
Grumpy cost me £1200 including transport from the continent, pretty good deal me thinks:)
