i love shavings,but the pellets are good too. have boxes on both. it really is a personal thing as to what you like and how you like to manage your bed and how much storage you have and how much your horses is stabled. i have full mats in every box and full beds with huge banks and muck out properly every morning (all wet out) and skip out lunch tea and 9to 10 pm, as req really. it really is a personnal and cost choice at the end of the day. i do also love a big clean straw bed just dont like the lingering smell and effort to muck out fully.
