What bit do you xc in?

I have recently discovered a waterford 3 ring gag and its amazing. I used to jump in a happy mouth 3 ring with double reins but he was just far to resistant to it. So i tried the waterford 3 ring and he goes so much better. I dont have to pull and mess around with his mouth half as much as i used to and i can actually control his whole front end where as before he used it against me. I use this for xc and sj, sweet iron loose ring snaffle for dressage and happy mouth 3 ring with double reins for hacking.

Myler D ring with hooks and a 'correctional' port, it gives him loads of tongue room, to be honest it's an absolute god send, the only bit where I have EVER been able to stop Toto when he tried to bolt, he got spooked out on a hack, and went to run off, I just pulled and voila! Not that he's a cronic bolter, but it's nice to know that I've got brakes if ever I need them! Haven't tried xc in in yet but will be, hopefully he'll be as good out hacking, we've cantered out hacking and he's pulled up fine

Old boy: Pelham with high port, curb chain and flash (made no difference, we still had no brakes once he got going

Tried in a dutch gag once for variety, to see if he 'clicked' with that- I have never been so out of control in my life, had to turn him into a fence and retire
