What bit(s) do you use for your horse and why?

17hh ISH 14yrs - NS Swales Pelham. Not really strong (unless XC) and only in it as he likes it (having tried just about every bit out there ) ! He is also ridden in a Double Bridle. He is a bit odd and likes lots of metal in his mouth. Put him in a normal snaffle and he totally loses it. No idea why...

16.2hh Ex Racer 5yrs - STarted in Fulmer, couldnt get a good feel on his mouth, now in a loose ring snaffle with a lozenge. Doesnt seem to like that either and is very fussy so thinking of going back to the Fulmar. Unless there are any other suggestions ?

I ride most things in a snaffle, if I need a little more I use a NS universal with no curb. Have sometimes used a pelham in horses it has suited or a chelt gag

14.3hh welsh cob, can be quite wooden in the mouth I use NS elevator (helps to stop him leaning on the bit) and for flat/hacking a sweet iron loose ring snaffle.

Newly backed just turned 5 welsh D gelding. Backed in a straight bar happy mouth full cheek.. Hated it! Constant head throwing wouldn't accept any contact etc. changed to my other boys NS loose ring lozenge better but still not happy. Last week put him in the NS starter bit he's like a different horse stopped he's head tossing and shaking plays with the bit allows you to play with he's mouth a little and has dropped he's head significantly. He's a very slow maturer so not done to much yet but has a lovely soft mouth. He's brother however goes very well in the NS loose ring lozenge bit. Competed in it, hacks and schools very well in it. Works in a lovely outline and doesn't fuss about he's mouth at all. I do highly recommended the NS bits

Neue schule verbinded for everything. Have breaks but used to have problems with her having a very unsettled jaw resulting in hollowing, this worked for us so continuing in using it. Ideally wanted her in a neue schule universal but apparently not said pony.

15.3 TB x ridden in a Neue schule loose ring lozenge (not sure ecactly what one as he came with it). He is generally soft in the mouth but can sometimes be strong in company, but tends to tuck his head in and do some impressive passage rather than tank off, so don't feel I need to up his bit.

15.2 TB is in a loose ring sweet iron snaffle. Took quite a while to find a bit she was happy in, but she is very quiet with this one, all the others would cause her to grind her teeth and be a bit backwards.
