WHAT BIT?????

Im looking for a stronger bit than a french link fulmer snaffle when out jumping at shows as my mare when jumping gets a WEE bit strong but at the same time i dont want anything severe.

Im not a bit person

Can anybody advise please and suggest?

I'm no expert but I would suggest a small gag like this one perhaps:

That way you can alternate between the snaffle ring and the bottom ring which is slightly stronger. Also, the mouthpiece is the same as the one you already use.

yeah i was thinking along that lines too

Just not listening when im her pulling up but no bad ness in it.

I mean i can hack her out and on the way back i can hold her and all she will do is canter on the spot.

but when jumping just gets a tad over excited with her self(if that makes any sense). Hence the reason i dont want a strong strong bit.

A hanging cheek might work well, it is slightly stronger thanyour current bit but not massively so. Might be good to try before resorting to anything stronger like a gag.

Basically, it is similar to the dutch gag but has no rings on the bottom. It offers more leverage/poll pressure than an ordinary snaffle but less than a dutch gag. It is also dressage legal!
