Hello :)

I was hoping a few of you might be able to help me find the right bit for my TB.
I've tried a few different bits with him and he just doesnt seem comfortable.

He has a very small mouth, and a very large tongue, which doesnt help at all. He is also very sensitive, and doesnt like the feel of stainless steel bits. He is very green as well.

I've tried;
happy mouth loose ring snaffle
happy mouth eggbutt snaffle
sweet iron loose ring (this one is the one he goes best in)
stainless steel french link
stainless steel straigh bar snaffle

and loads others, which are pretty similar.

I was thinking of trying a copper full cheek, to see if it will help with our steering issues and also help him to salivate.

But I dont know whether to try a Neue Schuele bit or a sprenger one?

What do you knowledgeable people think?

Thanks in advance! :D

Have you had the dentist out. Steering issues and sensitivity in the mouth sound like a sharp edge or something similar.

Our mare got sensitive in the mouth, it was a wolf tooth which had never bothered her so we had left alone. For some reason things changed.

Hi, has the dentist confirmed the small mouth, big Tongue? Just asking as I thought this of my boy, dentist looked and said he was completely normal. What does he do that seems uncomfortable?
I agree, get dentist to look and advise, some of this may just be green behaviour. :)

Yeah, dentist has been out twice and said all is fine. Dentist did say his tounge is quite big for the size of his mouth as well.

I agree most of it is green behaviour, but I just want to try and find a bit he is comfortable in, rather than one he resists. :)

(Sorry, I meant to multiquote, so hopefully you can figure out which comment is meant for who :p )
