For my mare I use a NS verbind loose ring (sensitive mare, with a large tongue), oh mare has a CS tongue saver baucher (helps suggest a softening for her while being gentle on her mouth and fits the shape of her mouth nicely). Both with a caversson as the bits are comfy so no gaping mouth probs.
Don't use a single joint and never will as I just can't imagine that a jolt to the roof of your mouth is in anyway comfortable!

Eggbut French link, stainless steel. I've experimented with a few bits and found that he hates absolutely anything else, though he will just about tolerate a waterford snaffle for farm rides/XC. I tried all sorts of bits for hunting and found he went best in either the WS or a jointed pelham (2 reins).

hanging cheek with french link for dressage, hanging link waterford for xc and sj and gag on 2nd hole with waterford mouthpiece for hunting :D

Mums mare....lets not start there!!!! tried everything and nothing she has ever liked, got some neus schule one shes okay in now, think its the verberand or something like that xx

This is what they go best in, they don't like snaffles at all.

Pelhams or Hippus. Snaffles are greatly over rated and rarely suit the shape of a horses mouth.

me too.. mullen mouth pelhams normally.. also found that my mare that was in a hippus stopped leanign when i changed to a neue schule lozneger bit.
