What body protector and hat should I go for?

Suggestions please! Am off shopping for my very first body protector and a nice new skullcap or hat tomorrow! Not sure what to go for. Riding wise, I will be doing mostly hacking and basic dressage - maybe a tiny cross pole or two, but I'm not very brave where jumps are concerned!

I'm considering the Aerowear body protector and maybe a different shape of hat. Can't seem to get comfy in a skull at all!

At the moment I'm wearing a size 2 1/2 skull, but after the first twenty minutes of riding it feels like my head is in a vice, so clearly not ideal! As I'm a shortish type, the body protector will probably be tricky too...taking my saddle along to make sure I can mount and dismount wearing it!

Anybody have any advice? And how big a dent will this be making in my savings? Thanks x

I really like my racesafe, but what ever fits you best will be the confiest for you and they do short length ones as mines a childs short :o. Skull cap again one that fits, I like my HS1 but managed to get it half price  I cant wear charles owen hats as they squash my head, just make sure its up to the saftey standards.

I have an airowear outlyne bp. I am a size 8 but quite busty and it fits perfectly. It doesn't restrict my movement and I don't noticed it's own apart from getting a bit hot in the summer

As above I have a Racesafe and a HS1 and I love both and find them very comfortable. But it is really whatever you find comfortable.

Lots of people recommend the Kan body protector too, I've never tried one on as they are quite pricey but its another option :)

Cheers:)Think the kan looks lovely but a bit too pricey at the moment! Maybe for my Christmas present next year or the year after!

Really love my Airowear, find a good fitter if you can :)

Hat wise - I'm on the hunt myself! so let me know what you choose!
