Someone posted a thread about whether or not you wear a body protector, it got me thinking that maybe i should wear one more! The one i currently have is like riding in a suit of armour! it's so restrictive and it's also slightly too long in the back and catches the saddle. So I am wondering what body protectors you wear and what one would you recommend (preferably ones you can get in short length!!)?

i just got a new one- an airo wear T2 slim or something... it is SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOOOO comfy

really felxible. my one before is actually described on the tag as "body armour" it felt like that!
i tried the highly reccomended race safe BPs. but found they were too long in the back, and had little adjustments availble which was a worry as im still growing!

I think mines a rodney powell and I hate it... its really uncomfortable and makes me soo hot.. I need a new one so if anyone can recommend a big one for someone with rather large boobies

I have a Rodney Powell and love it, it's a bit restrictive for the first 5 mins but after that I never notice I'm wearing it.

I have a racesafe and love it, forget i am even wearing it. Also have the rodney powell and completly hate having to wear it, find it really restrictive.

I used to have a Rodney Powell - no the most comfy as was too long in the back (kept hitting the back of the saddle) and didn't fit properly as I have a largish bust. It was however bought about 9 years ago.

So I went to get a new one - the tack shop I go too has about 4 or 5 different makes and they all have lots more variety in terms of sizes etc I have got a new airowear one - and its fab!! 100 times more comfy than my old RP - it is shaped with girls 'bumps' and curves in mind and fits perfectly!! I wear mine when hacking out - whether its across fields or on roads. Due to my job (I work in hospitals) and my advancing years I know the benefits of wearing one - and following 2 accidents on our yard recently (one wearing a BP and one not) everyone here is wearing them when out hacking now.

Tedster - I have the same problem! I get one to fit over my boobs and its too big around the waist, get it to fit my waste, and doesnt fit over boobs! haha.

slinkyunicorn - I had the same prob with mine hitting the back of the saddle, the top half of me is short compared to my legs so i need to find one that does them slightly shorter in the back. It didn't bother me too much before as i only wore it for jumping, but my new share horse is alot more lively than my old ones so figure it's probably best to wear one all the time!

KL - have a look at the airowear - they have different length backs which is how I got mine to fit properly. Top tip is when you try it on sit on the floor - if the bottom of the bp touches the floor it will touch the back of your saddle. Wish I had bought the airowear earlier - is definately made for women with curves!!

I have an Airowear outlyne - is designed specifically for women. A BP if it fits properly shouldn't restrict and certainly shouldn't catch the saddle. If you are XC you very quickly forget it's on. Don't set your heart on one particular make as another may suit better. Best bet is to go to a big saddlery and try a few. You need to sit on a saddle on a saddle tree to try it properly. I tried a RP but it felt too stiff and the Racesafe just didn't sit right. The Airowear was spot on and I really like it. We were going down South for something else and made a detour past Rideway....worth the detour.

I've been looking at them online, and found a size that i *think* would fit perfectly. I am going to a local equestrian shop in a hope they stock them, as i'd like to try it on before buying. if not may have to take the chance buying it online and hope i can send it back if it doesn't fit properly!

I've got a Rodney Powell and find it fine once its warmed up. My 'girls bits' are nothing to write home about so that's not an issue for me ROFL!

Racesafe 2000. Brilliant BP - so comfy, I dont even notice Im wearing it. You can get them in a short length too. I wouldn't recommend the Cobra, I had mine a few months before getting rid as very uncomfy!
