Having just got back into riding after a few years out I was amazed to open the horse catalogue and find page after page of exercise/competition/tendon boots!

The last pair I bought were Claradon Hunter boots but it would appear these went out with the dark age!?

So what I would like to know is do you use the same boots for schooling and competition and what brand style do you have?

Thanks :-)

Firstly, don't just buy some because they are must have, if yours are comfortable and you like them, no need to throw them. I ride in tendon boots that have a wool lining, i think they are professionals choice ones, i use them for competing and jumping at home, i don't use any when schooling.

If you want to look cool, it has to have a woolly attachment. Or made with kevlar and invented by a famous person.

my pony only wears them when hes jumping or o a fun ride but he has a nice pair of shires brushing boots good price :)

Dizz has:

Mark Todd tendon boots - easy to put on and protects when she's in a normal mood :)

Tri-Zone Cross-Country boots all round for a) when we get to go cross-country, and b) for when she's having 'one of those days and the legs are going everywhere'!

Little Cob has:

Eskadron tendon boots for jumping.

Woof Wear cross-country boots for going cross-country - I got some recommendations from the Comp Riders and went with the front style boots all round for him. Can't remember why now, but that was the general gist of the recommendations :).

I would love a set of leather-with-sheepskin just for the look lol, but can't be faffed with the cleaning of them :cool::eek::D
