As title really, do you wear muckers? or long riding boots or hunters? I am getting a horse soon after many years of not having one. back then mucker boots or greenies (green boots) were the thing. But that was 15 years ago

I can't really tell at riding school as everyone is in their jod or riding boots. But don't want to walk around new yard looking like a nineties throwback in muckers if they are not worn anymore.

A tad silly post i know. But just interested in what you where these days for day to day yard use.

Wellies when it is really wet
Muckers when it is not too wet
Slip on shoe thingys when I can't be bothered to do up velcro!
Flip Flops when it is too hot for anything else, silly I know but it is my own yard!

But Muckers are still cool - I think!

Mixture.....
Mountain horse protective paddock boots for work
Mountain horse (ones with laces) for yard or ariat devon pro cobolts or dubarrys or wellies or those Woof wear knee high boots with velcro fastenings up the leg

hmmm, I am a bit of a boot freak!

Thanks guys, i will have to take a look at them all, thanks again.

P.s secretly really pleased muckers are still worn

Steel toe capped boots from Sports Direct (£18 reduced from approx £50) & wellies for the really wet muddy stuff. I don't waste money on 'horsey' brands when I can buy from elsewhere & get much better value for money. As soon as something is labelled 'equine' it doubles in price! Don't be a slave to fashion, save money & spend it on lovely tack for your horse.

Toggi Ottawa Jodphur Boots and some shires suede chaps - they are so comfy!

Although I am thinking about a pair of the Rydale Dubarry - style boots.

Always wore my treasured Ariat boots and chaps for riding and my trusty Dunlop wellies for mucking out but now I don't ride at all and the new yard keep everywhere immaculate I just wear my deck shoes

Eriskayowner, I trash my Ariat Heritages too at the yard!

I wear my Ariats when it ok out, green muckers when it's wet and cold, my Barbie wellies when it's peeing it down (like this week) and my heavy duty clunky insulated muckers when it's the middle of winter!

When we had those two weeks of hot weather in June, I just wore my slip on Keds though.

I wear muckboots, which whilst not the prettiest of boots are soooooo practical. I can paddle round my waterlogged fields (in July!!!! what is that about???) and ride in them and they seem to last very well.

Like this but without the Muckers - I wear rank old trainers instead!

Like HG, my own yard so no problems

Mountain horse rough riders for everything. Just add chaps for riding. They are so comfy and added bonus of having steel toe cap, hand when you have a big footed cob.

Either my Ariat Grasmeres (normally during winter as they are so cosy) or my Ariat Heritage Zip I love both, soooo comfy! I also have Mountain Horse lace up ones, but they don't fit under my chaps so I don't wear them

I have some Dubarry style boots, wellies, muckers and mountain horse boots (with steel toe caps). Depending what mood I am in as to what I wear

BUT yesterday lovely horsie spooked and jumped on my foot - luckily had steel toe caps on - but unluckily missed toes and landed on top of foot O U C H

So will now be looking for solid steel shoes

Lightweight steel toecap wellies whatever (muddy yard, coblet with huge feet and bad co-ordination

).

I change into Ariat trainer-type things with half-chaps for riding (I keep them with my hat and tack and it only takes a minute to change), though I have forgotten and hacked in my wellies occasionally.
