For general yard duties and riding? I need to get some new boots, but have no idea what's good anymore. I swear when I had my horse there was either long riding boots or jodhpur boots, there was none of this paddock/mucking/godknowswhat malarky :o

Thanks :)

I wear wellibobs around the yard (shaped like jodh boots but welly material) as they are waterproof and won't rot from stables. If I'm going in mud, then I put long wellies on, or long rubber riding boots.
I ride in long, leather boots, traditional shape.

My mum bought herself some long Mudruckers but forgot to wear her thick socks... with thick socks on they don't fit her - happy early birthday prezzie to me! :D
They are brilliant, I use them for riding, mucking out, turning out and catching in (uber muddy bit at the gate!) and for when i get home walking the dog :o they are waterproof, comfy and warm if only they didn't get so mucky i'd never take them off! :p

I've just got some of the K*ty Lake Country boots from Equestrian Clearance and I love them! Warm and comfortable to do jobs and riding in, and great value!

Just checked them out, they look fab. Only problem I have with longer boots is that whilst I'm fairly slim and short, I have really chunky legs so I find it really difficult to find long boots to fit comfortably unless they have a wider fit. :p

I have my ariat wells for mucking out and yard duties, for riding I have my ariat boots and chaps - I have short legs so I dont get along with boots.

What ever's nearest the door :p
I've a stash of boots round the house but mainly wear wellies, rubber jod boots or if it's cold I have Aldi Ski/snow boots and Aldi winter muckers.

Also have a pair of old Uggs that get dragged out when I'm lazy, not practical in the slightest!

I've just bought a pair of Muck Boots Tyne through recommendation (the riding ones) and am very impressed with them; warm, dry and comfortable. Be warned though that they are quite a snug fit so I can only wear thin socks with mine as they don't do half sizes but they are so warm it doesn't make any difference and I can wear them all day. The leg part expands to your calf width too which is handy for chubby calves like mine.
Got mine from here at £49.99, very quick delivery and no post charges which always helps.
