What boots for SJ?

I used to never really boot my boy but he's jumping a bit bigger now and after an injury sustained going XC I've decided maybe its time to get him some decent boots.

Currently SJ's in some cheapy open fronted tendon boots and back brushing boots but brushing boots never fit him - short, fat legs you see!

Friend has suggested Clarendon boots which are an option but don't want to spend an absolute fortune plus not overly keen on the sheepskin lining.

Can anyone make any suggestions of ones worth looking into?
 
Have a look at the new equine wear ones as they do a medium wide, specifically for short wide cobby legs. I really like their boots and they seem to last well.

I never SJ'd J in anything other than over reach boots but wouldnt be without my N.E.W's xc!

Thanks will have a look - he has PE extreme event boots for XC and will now wear back and front over reach boots just to be on the safe side. The PE boots are a pretty good fit the backs are maybe a tiny bit longer than I'd like but the material is so flexible that he doesn't seem to mind them.

Luckily he seems to have stopped training the back legs (maybe the crack he got last year has taught him to pick up his legs) but I'm still paranoid about it now!
 
I use woof wear pro oxy tendon boots as they really do keep the legs cooler and the inners are on velcro so you can put them in the washer with the numnah, they are also very good value for money. I have had fancier sheepskin lined ones in the past but they are a pain to keep clean and don't actually do a better job. I have not tried the acavallo boots but I do have the riser and tail bandages and they seem to be a good durable make.
 
I had clarendon and only used them once, I found that they slipped down on hind legs and got increadably hot. I now use trizone for shows and premier equine at home.
