what boots?

I have a heavy weight cob who is very heavy on the forehand. We do a lot of road and bridle path hacking and schooling a few times a week. Any advise on whether he should be wearing boots and if so what type, just for protection really.

He doesnt brush or over reach, does trip sometime but thats down to being lazy, I am thinking prevention better than cure? All suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I would put knee boots on for hacking, especially for road work

Decent leather knee boots - quality ones prove their worth should you horse go down on its knees on the road.
