Out of interest what kept you dry and what didn't?

I was very disapointed to have returned from dog walking and had to undress conmpletely! I had Mountain horse waterproof over trousers (fail) and a Reincoat (Sadly bigger fail)
Its the first time I have really tested the Reincoat out, except once gettig caught in a massive down pour with the underarm zips open so accepted that soakig was my own fault. This time they were firmly done up
Now pleased that the long one was out of stock in my size when I tried to buy a while ago!

However I worked on a yard this morning and had cheap Aubrion Waterproof leggings which are not quite as nice to wear but I was bone dry underneath and an Ariat Spectator (on offer at HVS- but had this one years) and again stayed dry under that. I was outside for far longer in the cheaper outfit than the expensive one so the outcome is really annoying.

I have a pair of Berghaus waterproof trousers that I have owned for over a decade.

Still completely waterproof. They are awesome.

Not my Ridgeline coat! The sleeve trim has never been waterproof and today a seam on the top of the hood appeared to be leaking.

I have a pair of waterproof jods from Decathlon. Not been tested out for a while but for the price I'm pretty pleased with how they have done.

Will watch this thread with interest!

Equidry was fabulous as always. Cheap overtrousers bought for a tenner from Rydale at Badminton couple of years ago. My Le Chameux wellies.

Riding this morning had Decarhlon waterproof jodhs and a thin Ariat jacket. No leaks.

Flexothane waterproof trousers doing the kennels

Dry Robe doing quick trips from kennel/office/house/sheds

Revolution Race and Deerhunter jackets and Duck Dri over trousers doing gundog training on the bog in knee high heather and sideways rain

Raincoat Lite with Berghaus waterproof trousers & Le Chameau wellies for horsey stuff.

DoPo riding skirt for riding in.

Musto sailing coat for dog walking with afore mentioned waterproof trousers and wellies.

Craghopper aquadry is really waterproof and not expensive. My last one from then lasted 4 years and just started to leak last winter so I got the same make , only walk dogs now so out for about one hour or so

I’ve got two pairs of Berghaus waterproof trousers and they always keep me dry. One pair must be nearly 20 years old now and the other maybe 10 years old, and they’re both still going strong. I don’t wash them very often and I think that might help.

Hi vis pink reincoat, new version with zips on sides. I walk dogs in it. It’s long and I come home dry. Just the rain drips over front of hood and annoys me. Dogs all dry with Lidl hivis dog coats on , except the one who rolled in the “pond” that’s appeared in one of the fields

I was out in it all day, shooting. Walked through rivers and squelched in bogs.
Ridgeline jacket, deer hunter trousers, Miendl walking boots and Barbour gaiters. I did take changes of snoods. I can’t wear a hood so also a change of flat caps.

I've just bought a Trespass Puffa coat which says waterproof but I was doubtful. It actually was! It's new so not sure how long that will last.

My Musto cost is old now and still totally waterproof.

My Reincoat lite was waterproof, except where rain blew in around the knee area, when dog walking. I was pleased with it but I don’t feel it will last long, not sure why, it just doesn’t feel very solid. But maybe it is not supposed to be.

I love mine feel wise, I love the hood shape and the shaped arms etc and reading the above that they have kept everyone else dry I wonder if I have a dud!
I poo picked and dog walked in it so 1.5 hours max and as I say had to change all layers.

Absolutely going to look out for Berghaus trousers!
How do they come up size wise? I’d wear over something thin, leggings/riding tights

Kramer! Waterproof over trousers and knee length rain coat, bone dry underneath after about five hours outside in rain.

eta: almost forgot, also a sealskinz beanie hat that I've had for a hundred years and has never let in even a drop of rain.

Why don’t you contact them as they advertise they are waterproof . I bought a waterproof coat from Kramer and it leaked all down the back , the front was fine but my shoulders and back were wet . I sent it back and they sent me a replacement and that has been fine so you may have a dud like I did

It must be a dud, I was out for over an hour up on top of hills, and rain lashing down and driving in strong wind, floods everywhere locally, and I was dry. Apart from the knee gap! It’s meant to be 20,000 rainproof units, whatever they are! Same as the Equidry and Stierna.
Send it back!

I have cheap waterproof trousers which are years old and possibly from Regatta and a Twin Oaks waterproof coat from Kramer. They are indestructible but neither are breathable so I do sweat underneath them if I’m wearing a lot of layers. Twinned with rubber gloves from the local agri store the only thing that gets wet is my head.
