What brand silks fit the Gathouse HS1?

I got a silk when I bought this hat (large size, not sure of the brand) but it's MEGA tight and barely fits. The hat has the grippy surface so when it needs adjusting it's like stretching a small glove over a large cheesegrater. I want a velvet 'silk' now and I'd like to avoid the knuckle-reduction effect! Can anyone tell me which brands go big enough, as I'll probably have to buy online :) Thank you!
 
I have a tree house silk in the largest size for my current skull and it is too small. The gatehouse hs1 is bigger so I can't imagine it would fit. As the safety standards make hats bigger we need bigger silks.

Gatehouse do their own range of silks to fit the HS1 etc.. I've got one to fit my HS1 :). Do a search for Gatehouse Hat Silk and you'll get a fair few results.

Hmm I did but I could only find 'silk' silks - no velvet! Do you know that they do one?

I have a velvet cover I got off of eBay. It's not branded but it fits fine. It cost about £18 and came in different sizes. I also have lots of different coloured silks and velvet covers and everyone fits it.

I don't suppose you would be so kind as to find the listing details in your email or purchase history for me? I'd really appreciate it! There are hundreds listed on ebay and so I'm not sure how great my chances would be just picking one at random!
 
I've a show velvet with button and a Lycra and don't have an issue with either? The velvet did come from a tack shop so I borrowed on of their 1.5 hs1 to get the right size :)

Size 1.5? That will be why you don't have a problem 😂 I wear a 4!

Wish I had a small and dainty head!

I've just bought a Shires large velvet cover that fits my HS1. Until now I hadn't realised hat silks/covers came in different sizes but apparently the HS1 is larger than others.
 
I have recently bought a champion velvet hat silk, which fits my hs1 nicely. I got a large for a size 2 but would get a medium next time for a more snug fit.
They do come in an extra large, so may stretch to larger sizes??

Have tried a shires which was tiny, but haven't tried champion or nag rags yet so might give them a try. Would much prefer a velvet to a Lycra cover.

Yes I thought that might explain the different answers :). Given that they aren't really new anymore and that more hats are as big as them I'd be surprised there aren't more silks for them. My velvet is certainly the same size as the hat so I'd think a size 4 velvet would fit the size 4 hat the same.
 
It's in somerset and I am very much not so I can't check for you I'm afraid (and they aren't on the shops website). I bet I check and it just says medium too now :D

And size one is a 6 3/4 in old money or a 55 in metric. A size 4 is a 7 1/2 or a 61.

Velvet hats are normally sized the old way or in cm circumference but depending upon brand skull caps are normall either in the 1-4 skull cap sizing or the cm measurements.

Somerset wouldn't be very convenient for me either! But if you know the brand of the silk that would be great thanks 😊
 
lol well the silk is in somerset, the shop was in the new forest. I might be back in somerset in 3 weeks or so (I'm threatening Frank with an evening performance show!) so if I am I will check the label.
 
I just got my Treehouse velvet in XL and it fits my 2.5/58 HS1 just fine :) Not the cheapest but I'll be sticking with them in future I think, at least I know they're guaranteed to fit!
