Following on from brands which have lost their way what brands are still great and worth buying for longevity?
I think Barbour is excellent with a fantastic after sales service. What other brands would you recommend?

Thorogood. I have a really old dressage saddle, pre 1998 as that's when their current records end. Anyway, it needed new straps which just thread on but as the serial number didn't come up my local stockist couldn't order them. A computer says no sort of scenario. I emailed thorogood direct and having sent them a picture of the saddle and straps they sent me replacements!
Saddle now as good as new even after all this time. Excellent product, excellent service.

GFS, Thorowgood and my Toggi Hudson boots have been fantastic for three years, and still look like new (worn daily). Oh and Muck Boots - I LOVE them, have one welly pair, and one riding pair. :)

Oh and my Barefoot saddle has been a life saver with my dodgy back and an ever changing cob.

I would also like to vote for my Puffa jacket - SEVEN years old and still looks like new, worn every day in winter. Ridden in, the lot - got it in a sale too !!

Musto, I love my Musto jacket. Warm but breatheable, waterproof, lots of handy pockets, looks good, comfy when riding, washes well. Got it for about £70 4 years ago and it still looks brand new.

Shires, I love there rugs, sized well and waterproof.

Mudruckers, Love them for when it gets muddy, feet stay toasty warm and dry.

Le Chameau - 15 years and counting
Musto Suffolk - 12 years and counting
Kyra K ED - 7 years and counting
ReactorPanel saddle - 10 years...
Mountain Horse Mountain Riders - 11 years...though I hear the newer ones aren't as good

I love my Hunters, but then they are a few years old so maybe they were better then? I'm happy with my Ariats and also love Musto. Sealskinz gloves are fab!

Thermatex :)

Agree

and Chester Jeffries - don't see there gloves around much but they are the warmest I have ever used in winter :D

Lavenham too, been using their rugs since 1987 not cheapest but the price per wear makes them cheaper overall than some of the other brands. Just trying to resist the 10% off day today on their website...:p
