What breed do you think he is?

This is my boy, George. He's 15hh and 18 years old. In these pics he's a bit porky and at the start of a strict diet regime. It was mid summer this year and he's totally changed now, but have no recent pics of him. He was sold to me a welsh section D and his character traits have never led me to believe otherwise

But he didn't come with papers and I don't think he looks out and out Welsh D, when I consider the fact my mare was a registered welsh D! He'd not been treated the best and I didn't learn much about him. Sometimes I look at his face and think 'yep, you're a welshie', but then I look at the whole package and it's just not!

So this pic of him is Summer this year, pre-diet.

A photo I have of him from March 2000 when he was 9 years old.

I am well aware he's not some superstar horse. He's done really well with me, though, and has such a gorgeous, fun character. I don't think I could ask for more.

Thank you

He's a devil really hehe.

I always thought his chest forward look ID-ish. It is so annoying when all you can do is speculate on what breed your horse is!

I can go back to the 1600s on my other horse's breeding

Thanks scribbles. Yes, they do look similar! I love the mane on yours - couldn't keep George's because of mild sweet itch, but as you can see in the old picture, he did have a nice mane and tail at one point.

My two horses you can take right back to t/b and they are both sec d's. I had a t/b that i would have loved to know the history on and couldn't find out anything! Was so annoying as i really wondered what had happened to him in his first years before i got him!!

Irish cob, or irish draught with a D shaped nose.........
very handsome though! :-)
My horse is an irish draught/something, and its annoying not knowing what the something is!

Awww, thanks everyone

Yeh he certainly is an ideal pleasure horse. SO much fun to ride. He's a MW 15hh but I have a 17.3hh and when I get on the 15hh in these pics, I feel like I am riding a really fun little pony. Everything has to be done at pony pace (fast) and he's so young for his years if that makes sense

Love him so much
