Just for a bit of fun :)

What breed do you think she most resembles - and how tall do you think she is?

:o

Hmmm I'm going to say 14hh and a native type... dartmoor x something stockier? -welsh?

I'm rubbish at this  She is lovely though :D

Hehe thanks for your nice comment - im not her mum but il let her know you said she was lovely :o

She is a lovely girl -an absolute angel.

There is a reason for the question - its that her breed on her passport is funny. And that i think she looks a completely different height in this photo than she is

there is some irish cob there with something finer. I'd say 14.3?

Yeah i was thinking along those lines too :) (although i said irish draught with something finer as i didnt know you got irish cobs :o)

The height is interesting! I thought she looked huge in the pic - but obivously not! :o:p

I think she looks big too - 16HH plus and I think she's got a British heavy horse type head, crossed with something finer, maybe a TB.

I think she has a beautiful face, so honest :o

Thanks for your imput, i like your suggestion! :)

I thought maybe a CB x and 16hh+

Yeah i think her big strong neck make her look very cb-ish.

Looks a lot like my friends CB.

So, whose right/close?

Hmmm so CB is a recurring theme! :D

As for whos right, when it comes to her breed she's.... er.... passported as a Thoroughbred :p :p:p Poor lass, shes a big bit of Thoroughbred! Although there may one in there somewhere!

I was interested to see what you guys thought she was more like, and your comments have been great!

As for size... I always think she looks huge! and in this pic even more so! She's a well up 15.2hh :o

She looks like a TB cross Clydesdale to me and looks more than 16 hands in that photo. Have you remeasured her since you have had her Alainax? Only asking as I have a heavy horse cross that was 16.3 on passport but we have measured as being 17.2 and this has been double checked by more than one person too. There is no way that mare is a pure TB though. She is too heavy boned and stocky to be one and her head is a heavy horse or heavy horse cross type.

Thanks for your imput! Yeah they more i look at her face, the more i can see the heavy horse in her ( dont tell her that - shes just recovering from the farrier calling her a hippo :o)
Shes not mine, she belongs to a friend, we go hacking frequently and i always think she looks bigger than 15.2! I dont know when she was last measured - but im sure it was an an adult. :)

Her head looks as if there could be some shire in her.
Height wise - measure yourself, then stand at her wither and take it from there.
Whatever breed or height she is she looks kind and comfey!

TB? Lordy me, there might be a TB hiding (very well) in there somewhere!. lol

I would be VERY suspicious of the passport if it says TB, it cant be hers.
Have you checked the picture the vet drew against her to see if swirls etc are in the right place?

Seems shes a heavy set something x something lighter. wouldnt like to guess what but is not that short coupled looking so may well be cross TB.

Still, thats a great big heavy head (hope she didnt hear me) so could be old fashioned ID x TB

I would be asking some very serious question of the previous owner AND whoever it was (vet) that did the passport piccy

Could be a CB part-bred. There is a breeder on Speyside who lost his much loved CB stallion about a year ago. He produced some nice hunter types by crossing with his Highland mares.

Beamish Museum used to cross CB with Dales.
