What breed of dog do you have?

I was wondering whether our taste in breeds of dogs are as varied as the horses we have on here, or whether horse/country people seem to favour certain types.

This list is not extensive, apologies but I haven't put a section for Stella or Bumbledog

Hey hey.....we have been told what kind of hound mix Ripper is, his Dad was a Bouvier! He is still just a shaggy black carpet, excuse the paint!

There are some lovely dogs here. I would have dozens if I could, what makes it unfair is that now I have the space I am not allowed to

MFH, love the photos, especially love your bassets. I really like them but my OH is very fussy about dogs and has banned me from having them

He dislikes them so much that even if I went out and got one he would put his foot down (very rare occurence) and take it back

My mother had one once and he was SUCH a character.
Does anyone have a Bull terrier?

I am a big lurcher/greyhound/whippet fan (I have one lurcher and one greyhound at the moment) but your photos made me really nostalgic for another whippet

- which makes it rather odd that I am currently considering a Jack Russell terrier, but I want something smaller

Not a JR?! Eek, you must be a glutton for punishment! A small Whippet wouldn't take up any more room and would be so loyal compared to one of those; they always seem to have their own agendas; you're just lucky if it happens to coincide with yours!

God forbid anything happens to the others but it would have to be lurchers for me every time now, fantastic people!

I do just love whippets - my lurcher has put me off a bit as he is totally neurotic poor thing, he was a rescue though and had obviously been appallingly treated before, could NEVER re-home him but he isn't the easiest to live with

I think possibly he has Irish in him although he wasn't advertised as one when I bought him. He is quite leggy, a lot taller than my other one in the pic.
