Well basically need you help guys. We will be looking for a dog soon.
We want smallish dog and are after having two. We dont want anything that is around the border collie height. It is more convenient to have two small dogs.
But no idea what to get as I am not clued up on smaller dog typs, we have always had bigger dogs.
So any help much appreciated. They are just pets not to do anything like agility etc. But would like something cute

Going to have a look at the kennels anyway but would be fab if we had an idea of what dog we are looking for.

Cocker Spaniel

They're not too big - very energetic though. Mine's absolutely nutty!

Very cute choice.

Harvey was 9 weeks old on Saturday. There's lots of recent posts laden with pictures of him. We think he's cute too, but we're biased.

It depends how busy (read nutty!!) you want them to be, and what you want to do with them

Quiet little dogs like lhasa apsos are becoming increasingly common, or cavalier king charles spaniels are also a popular. If you want something a bit nuttier jack russell terriers or cocker spaniels will keep you busy- however they really would be a handful as a pair as they need a lot of disciplined obedience training

If you want a medium sized dog who will absolutely LOVE you, who are fairly easy to train and who have a wonderful combination of calm temperament and real 'bounce' I would highly recommend Hungarian Vizslas- although they are definitely medium sized dogs and not small

...if you aren't worried what they look like and don't have any specific aspirations to compete/show your pets, why not have a look at your local rescue centre? They normally have a lot of small/medium sized doglets desperate for homes

Oh thanks so much for the reply, We dont mind nutty dogs at all. I do like the look of the cocker spaniels they are gorgeous

My friend has a cavalier king charles spaniel and they are lovely.
No we are not bothered about showing or anything like that, just want two dogs

I do think a rescue home will be the way forward, I just know I will want them all though

Haha aww I love pointers. But yes we do want a smaller dog. Looking at the cocker spaniels quite like them they are cute. I wish some breeds were smaller I would have loads of them lol.

Lovely dogs

I am of course not biased at all towards spaniels of the Cocker variety...

You'll notice that I rarely post pictures of Henry indoors and sitting still!
