Saw a black pony which looks like a mini-me of a Friesian but finer boned and a bit less hairy on the legs than a fell pony. Gorgeous paces.

Anyone know?

Ah! Yes!! Thanks - was wondering. Sorry, don't know too much about ponies and native breeds!

They look gorgeous!!! How tall is yours, Denise?

In the picture she was about 4 or 5 and was 13 hands and a bit and now she is rounghly 14.2 or 14.3 she is a cross breed though so im not sure if that is a bit taller than pure breeds.

Kayfamily, I'm a Dalesfan too, got 2 of the little darlings! Where are you getting your pony from and what breeding, age etc? Pm me if you'd prefer.

I'd get one for yourself Tasel. Mine was no kids pony :p

Lol - I do have a weird taste. I told OH I liked that pony, and would get one of those for my future kids. Because it reminded me of my horse a little (its gaits). He was like... didn't you see - that thing reared, and the kid fell off! Yes, it's very much like my horsey indeed... ;)

OH thinks I'm gonna injure our future kids!!!

But the pony I saw today looked way to small for me... I guess they may come at different heights?

You could always shop about and get a cross breed im sure there will be some like dales section D crosses or something that may be a bit bigger?
I think youd be doing the right thing getting the kids something with a bit of spark, that way they'll learn that horses are animals not machines and you have to treat them properly.
Also it will be fun for you to watch :P
