What breeds have the silver dapple gene?

My friend is verging on obsessed with it and has spotted it in highland and icelandics. Also seem to be a lot of cobs that colour.

How has he been doing?

On a serious note, other that american breeds I've heard tell of it popping up in welshies and in Belgian and Breton Draughts. Never heard of and ID that has tested positive for it.

My OHs wee Rocky Mountain is Silver Dapple apparently :)

Doesn't look like the silver I have seen in Rocky Mountain horses. Have you had DNA tests?

Now imagine this beautiful buckskin silver dapple rocky mountain horse with a liberal sprinkling of appaloosa snowflaking and a blanket.

He has only been DNA tested an negative for grey so far but hoping to have other tests done as an when i can afford to.

However having researched I can find no other explanation for the chocolately brown and silver points he has. Would welcome any suggestions though.

He's an interesting colour and I'm so looking forward to seeing his test results when you have some spare cash to solve the mystery. :)

Don't forget that SD is found in Gypsy cobs, so if he does have SD, this is a possibility of where he got it.
