I'm looking to buy a new bridle (tonight) and wondering what bridles people reccomend?

Ideally I want one which I can buy a (matching) noseband for later on, as I may take to using a grackle, but for the time being I'll stay in a cavesson

I have just bought a sabre cordoba from discount saddlery (hey farm) - cheapest I could find anywhere at £120, it's a lovely bridle and they make grackles to match if you wanted one in the future

My local saddlery do Jeffries flash bridles for £75, which seems to be a bargain! So I might just go with that.

Ideally I'd like to spend under £100

I've just been really self indulgent and brought a beautiful Albion bridle. It cost a blimmin mortgage but soooooo worth it. I always say buy the best you can afford and you will be happy.

helly - where did you get your IR bridle from? I like them but in rideaway they're £200!

Padded/Brass is best as he has sore ears and brass matches my jacket adn saddle

Well I am going to rock the boat 'cos my favourite bridle is my gorgeous, practical, fully functional, green and white Zilco bridle with hackamore, and clip on Zilco reins.
It cost about £14.00 for the headpiece and cheek bits with throat latch, and a further £23.00 for the reins, all off Ebay.
Just run it under the tap after riding - low maintenance and hardwearing.
And yes, I have had a Keiffer, and a Jeffries in the past and they are beautiful, and we have a nice plain leather double for showing etc, but Zilco for me is the ultimate hacking bridle.

I have a Stubben. 3000? The one with the split headpiece. I've got a Stubben poll pad on it too 'cos my boy is v.funny around his ears/poll. The leather is lovely & I've been so pleased with it.
I've always had Sabres in the past 'cos they were slightly cheaper & they were good quality, hardwearing bridles. Also nice leather.
I think the thing that gives my Stubben the edge is the colour. I think it's a nicer brown than the Sabres I've had but I s'pose that only matters if you want brown 'cos black is black whatever you get.
