What bridle do you use on your TBs?

For Christmas I am going to treat myself to a new bridle he currently has a Bedale Blenheim bridle (Shires) and although it suits him, it isn't the best quality leather especially after 3 years, it was only supposed to be a temporary bridle :o I can't say I am amused at how difficult it is to find a standard cavesson noseband without a flash and I don't fancy having to cut the loop off if I end up spending £100+ on one.


I am curious what everyday bridle you use on your TBs, feel free to use it as an excuse to post pictures of them :D
 
I feel your pain re finding a plain cavesson without flash, seems to be verging on the impossible!
However I have the Stubben 3000 which comes with or without flash.
Suits finer heads, although from what I can gather, most of the Stubben range come with the option not to have the flash included.
 
I have to admit I forgot all about Stubben, I do like the 3000 especially the split head piece and the price! Plain cavessons seem to be like rocking horse muck I don't get why a flash has to be the standard.
 
I was looking at getting the stubben 3000 for mine a few years back but ended up with the Jeffries falcon. Also suits a finer head as not chunky. Really nice bridle. I'm looking at getting a new bridle for my id this Xmas too, thinking an elevator or similar! Love getting new tack almost as much as rugs!! ;)
 
If you don't want a flash, you need to order a showing bridle which ought to come with a plan cavesson. Failing that, take the flash cavesson to a saddler and ask them to remove it, it's a simple job, they will unpick the stitching and re-stitch the hole. Our local saddler would probably charge £20 to do that sort of thing.

I have a stubben bridle, it is good quality and durable. Why not look at the jefferies bridles, they are lovely and you can choose whatever noseband you want.

The Jeffries Falcon is on my list of possibilities glad to hear that it suits finer heads as it isn't always easy to tell from pictures of the bridle alone. I am slowly recovering from my rug buying obsession I have managed to go around 6 months without buying one, unfortunately he is going to need a new HW this winter :rolleyes: I do have a list as long as my arm of things that I need to buy atm if only my bank balance were looking forwards to this as much as I am :D
 
Lol! I know the feeling! Iv a rug trasher who doesn't rip his own rugs but my tbs, who obviously needs them. Costs me so much in either repairs or to replace!!
As for the bridle, it's really nice. Not got a photo on my laptop or phone currently of him in it (he's had lots of time off with me having a baby this year but I will put it on him later and take a pic and post tonight.

That is just rude, he could at least trash his own :D *touch wood* my TB is very good and doesn't trash his but my old pony used to (thankfully he now prefers to be naked!) trash his so I now always put a LW over my thicker rugs because it used to cost me a small fortune and I don't fancy doing that again.
I also have my eye on a Jaguar bridle, slightly more expensive... at this rate the bridle is going to be worth more than the horse! :eek: :D
