What can I feed my horse??

Hi. I love feeding my horse fruit and vegetables but are their any that I should steer clear of as I recently read that cherries were toxic and their leaves lethal?

I have heard potatoes and onions arnt very good for them

cherries? really!!! my mare has been eating them and the leaves of the tree in her field for years!
