hi. i own a 14.2hh welsh cob. he is 14 years old. I feed him chaf and pony cubes at the moment. I want him to have something else to give him an extra boost as he is a bit lazy. lol. any ideas of what i can feed him? thanks

No change of feed will change your cob's naturally laid back nature. Cobs are what they are. (and I have one too - love them!) They are also usually good do-ers so you can't increase calorie intake too much or they'll podge.

That said, assuming you are in medium to hard work and he is fairly fit you could try shifting to a competition mix or a conditioning mix. (The latter is more intended for weight gain so be careful.) Naf EnerG is quite effective for a shorter term boost.

If you're not in medium to hard work you could try getting him fitter. The fitter they are the more wiling they are to work usually.

keep it smple, oats for a bit of energy, and carry on with what your on.

or change the nuts to a mix,

i would contact spillers ntrition, they are very good, my skinny arab has been on thiere recomended diet for two weeks after months of trying allsorts and he now looks fab!
