One of my horses warts has suddenly started to bleed, its more of a small open wound and while I’m waiting for the vet to see it, can anyone recommend a barrier cream or a horse friendly plaster I can put on it to stop dirt and flies getting in it.
thanks

Sudocrem - I used it on two bleeding sacroids on my mare and it kept the flies away from them and they eventaully dried up.

I'd echo Sudocrem or even Vaseline. Whatever you do, don't apply anything with Tea Tree oil or Aloe Vera because both these substances are no-nos if the wart turns out to be a sarcoid. They are no-nos because they aid skin regrowth and if you've got a skin cancer, you don't want to do anything to encourage its growth.

Yes, I’ve counted out anything like Aloe and skin healing type gels for that very reason.
Popped a bit of Vaseline on it last night and that does seem to have helped.
Was wondering if there was a barrier cream out there that would cover it, sort of like a bonjela but without the healing properties, if that makes sense.
Why hasn’t someone invented a plaster for horses ?? :)
