I was told when i got a Greyhound that they were hard to train in the usual sit, lie.....way.

So pleased that i have now got him doing:

Sit
Paw

Paws - Sits and puts both paws on my leg. Like a beg
Lie - My command for this is 'Floor It'

and now the best one i think is

Bow - he looks so funny with his legs stretched out and his skinny butt still in the air. I bow at him and he will bow back.

Mind you he'll only really do all of this for food.....not one to work for fun!!!!

So what can yours do. :D

Scoobs can do

Sit
Lie Down
Paw
Other Paw
Both Paws
Leaveeeee ITTTTTTT! which he knows i mean it instantly and now!
Find your duck: Find a queaky toy of some description and give it to me.

Teaching him how to speak, but hes a little thick and is taking a while to teach!

He also knows
"what do you do" which means if you want to go for a walk, sit you skinny butt on the floor and let me attach the lead to you! Sit just won't do it in those situations!

Haha this made me laugh!!
'Where are your manners?!' = hairy but sat on the floor while she is attached / detached!

Glad, i'm not the only owner whose dog finds going for a walk/coming back for a walk very exciting!
He honestly, does get walked. He pretends he doesn't. But he does. Same goes for being fed too!

Oh tell me about it.... Some days she looks like she really will pop with excitement even though she has 3 walks a day.

Actually the word 'Mannerrrrrrrrs' now means 'stop whatever you are doing to annoy me and sit nicely' ... shes getting quite good at it bless her.

LOL so funny.

Cliff is alot like that at walk times, i have to try and catch him, as he charges past on one of his circles, trying to grab his head but dodging the whip of a tail as it comes at my legs.

Do? Do? You mean the greyhound girlies are meant to DO something :D

They eat a LOT of rabbit muck, they run around in aimless circles occasionally, they eat horse muck, they eat their own dinners..... and they sleep :):):)

Both my boys passed their KC bronze, so learnt sit, down, stay, wait, come through (the doorway), recall (works better indoors). They also know what various other words mean, so i could probably of trained them to do much more than i have. Hector learn't how to open the babygate by lifting the handle with his mouth just by watching how we did it.

Do? No they don't have too. lol

I thought it a challenge as they are meant to be hard to train but have found it not too bad, once he learnt to sit the rest came easy.

Will now do it in the office, but not one for public a training class would totally stress him out as he is one of the more mentally stressed ones. He'd just run a million circles until a track appeared in the floor. :D
