What colour boots for showing?

It has been many years since I stepped in a show ring butI really want to get my new baby out to some local shows. She would be in novice initially, but then into part bred, cob etc later on.

I am in the market for a new pair of long boots anyway and would ordinarily chose brown, but can I show in these? Or should I just get black?

Brown are traditional for showing. Black are traditionally for dressage.

You don't see alot of brown long boots in the show ring these days most wear black now.

Agree that you're more likely to see black in the show ring now days. If you are showing in a class where you wear a tweed jacket you could probably get away with it but if you need to wear a navy or black jacket I don't think you can wear brown boots.

Brown boots for natives traditionally. But agree you won't see many, I like my brown boots as they are a little different so noticeable in a big class.
