What colour breeches do I go for ??

So getting my boyfriend a pair of breeches as a surprise and going for the Mark Todd Aucklands . Do I go for the beige , brown or navy ?? He usually only competes in hunter trials so would the dark brown be ok ?

If competing then I think the beige would be the right colour, but I'm no expert
