What colour do you think this youngster will turn out ? Dappled or flea bitten ?

Hi I’m looking to getting this 19 month old filly with the hope she may turn dappled over the years… her mum is dappled her dad is cremello but I’m not sure if she may be more flea bitten ??

Dappling is part of the process of greying as melanocytes stop producing pigment; later on some can start again due to aberrant cell signalling to produce flea bites (grey is a disorder of melanocyte function, iirc due to differences in inter and intra cell communication & protein kinase docking

She's a little pale for her age of 18 months.

My grey mare was almost black when I got her as a 2yo. She was for quite a long time dappled and very attractive, paler and paler, and then fleabitten. She was always a handsome girl, but our temperaments didn't match. I like sooky. She was independent.

I didn't choose her for her colour. I chose her because she was a good sort, though not a good sort for me, I came to realise.

In my experience not all greys go through a dappled phase. If you watch racing where there are many greys you will see some that just seem to get paler and paler. She will be what she will be and no way of forecasting reliably except that she will end up white. Given how pale she is already it won't take long.
