Just doing some market research. Do you like to "dress" your horse in a certain colour, whether for competition or just general riding i.e. saddle cloth, boots, browbands... etc. If so, what colour? Thanks :-)

I'm terrible for this... Grey gelding has everything red and navy, Chestnut gelding has everything burgundy

Yes I know life is too short for matchy matchy

I cant help it!

Whatever's clean! When competing white square for dressage and black for SJ/XC. Don't do bandages. Sorry, not your market ;-)

No, 'fraid not ... if there's a choice of colour in something I or horse needs, I will choose so it doesn't 'clash' with horse, but other than that, will stick to basics of black, brown, navy or white.

Have an aversion to 'bling' or similar but then I am old and grumpy ;)

Mine's a grey and white so more or less anything looks nice on him. I do like him in grey though, also use burgundy, black and I have a rather nice teal le mieux dressage pad. I do like to colour coordinate and used to before 'matchy matchy' was invented LOL Colours I tend to avoid by way of personal taste are red, browns, certain blues (those garish kind of light royal blues) and bright greens. I'm afraid I have fallen victim to liking 'bling' browbands - I need serious help!!

My little black horse wears green and brown :D
The big grey one wears blue!
Horses have to have a colour... why else would I buy so much stuff for them?! ;)

My old chestnut mare was always light blue and purple what ever she had
And my tri coloured mare colours are red white and blue
I try and stick to them colours unless it's something they need or I really want lol

Another one with a grey - he's fleabitten and most of his flea bites are chestnut coloured so he wears either grey or navy blue when competing, but never white (which no matter how much I wash him - and anyone who knows me will tell you I'm a tad obsessive about keeping him clean - makes him look dirty). His dressage square is grey but it has a hint of blue in it and goes beautifully with a) him; and b) his jockey's navy blue jacket and hat . . . and his jumping squares are navy blue. In a pinch, he'll compete with a black or chestnut coloured square . . . and he has a forest green dressage square for every day. His travel boots and rugs are grey and black - to go with his head collars and lead ropes.

P

P.S. In terms of rugs, all of his stable rugs and bandages are matchy matchy (navy blue, green and red - all coordinating) . . . but his turnout rugs are a veritable rainbow . . .

Usually hi-iz! We have a full matchy set :D inc. bonnet, numnah, sheet, boots and OR boots, tail guard, breast plate, browband and noseband and rein covers!

Next is red, we have most thing in red/black.
Have a good few bits in purple, including a Zilco bridle.
A few things in white for shows.
Black, blue, gold/black!

I have a grey and a mahogany bag and ahem, both wear pink where possible.

My bay however is an impressive wannabe grey, she gives all the greys a run for their money in the mud stakes :(

When my white-grey mare isn't plastered in mud and is actually white, her 'stuff' is a beautiful, bright summer-sky blue. Not baby blue, not turquoise, and definitely not royal! Finding things that are 'just right' can be a nightmare *blush*

Unfortunately I like ALL colours so could never quite manage the 'matchy' look! My favourite saddle cloth is a Requisite one, which was once navy blue but has now faded to more of a grey-blue and has nasty white rope binding, but is just the right thickness and made of oh so soft cotton. I also have a beige with brown binding polypad, a royal blue polypad, a pink and black tartan nag rags square, a brown numnah, and a dark green Rambo saddlecloth. And then there's my ancient Morpheus designs giraffe print and navy with gold stars saddle cloths, bought when I was 12 (15 years ago!) and still used :P
I do insist that all leather is brown though, regardless of colour of horse.

Burgundy and gold.
Obsessively.
And weirdly enough it's the Boarding school in our village colours and the village have also taken them. So everything in our village inc my horse is burgundy and gold (even the colour scheme in the communal areas of our apartment!!!!)

We ride endurance so yes, we're rocking ALL the colours!
Palomino gelding - hunter green.
Blood bay gelding - BRIGHT orange and black.
Dark bay mare - red
Cremello connemara mare was in purple (now retired)
Steel grey mare - black and gold (she's my daughter's, doesn't do endurance and looks pretty classy in this at Pony Club)
In fairness to me, colour coding is VERY handy for the non horsy OH as he knows which halter and bridle goes on who (we have a HUGE range of head sizes since we own both Arabs and Standardbreds!).

Due to being on yards where most things are pink purple blue etc. Everything stable related is black with a few red things. Was deliberate to start with but now like being the odd person on the yard. But tack is all brown so everything else tends to match for exercise

Burgundy and gold.

My horse is all burgundy and gold! in fact I have a major obsession with gold. All the buckles and fittings on his tack have to be gold (with black leather) and he has a burgundy and gold breastplate and saddlepad. He also has a burgundy and gold fly veil but I never use it, I have a burgundy and gold crop but he hates crops so I never use that either !

I do dress him in navy and red for XC type things as the gold stuff looks a bit showjumper-y for that.

My mare is mainly white with a few small black patches so just about anything works on her, apart from brown. She normally wears a burgundy saddle cloth, but they've become a bit difficult to find, so recently I've bought purple, which looks great. We don't do matchy matchy though - headcollar is red and rugs are all colours.

I don't really have a colour! anything that looks smart goes!

Showjumping is white or Navy Square, brown tack, Navy Jacket/Hat for me, normal black/grey tendon boots for horse
Dressage, white square, black tack, navy jacket hat for me, White Bandages for WU or whatever is clean has been Navy before and was pink on Friday!
XC, I Jjust bought new colours for the season; Light Blue base layer with Navy Stars and the opposite for a hat silk, and navy BP plain black XC boots and brown tack
Smart travelling stuff is Brown/Beige with burgandy Mark Todd boots (when i bought the stuff MT did burgandy Travel boots but no matching rug, and a brown rug with no matching travel boots - they do now have the travel boots in brown though which is annoying!)

Yard stuff tends to be blue but more by luck rather than judgment
