I have a white one but it only succeeds in making my shiney-just-washed horse look either slightly grey or a very very pale palamino by comparison.. should I buy a cream one in the theory i'd make her look white? or would that just make the numnah look dirty!

and I do wash her! and she looks shiney and clean and sparkly..until you put the white numnah next to her....lol

(and didnt know whether to put this here or in competitive so tossed a coin :)

I used to use a White dressage square with a navy and silver rope binding on my late grey. It looked really nice as the navy binding matched my jacket and the silver matched her blingy browband. The navy binding stopped the saddlecloth from merging with her grey coat and framed it quite nicely.
I wouldn't go for a cream or off White as your pad will just look dirty, find one with a coloured binding that matches your jacket, or tack :).

Forgive my ignorance but why does a dressage pad have to be white? My grey came to me with 2 lovely velvety black pads and looks good in them, I'm gradually moving over to all black tack (or very dark) as well.

Hmm.. I shall have to research buying a new saddlecloth (shame! ;) ) unless any one knows a way of putting a border on an existing one? (we are in a recession, apparently..hehe)

and I agree that I dont like them either but I stand out enough being on a extremely fluffy footed grey cob whilst everyone is prancing around on warmbloods :P lol so wanted to look 'proper' but I suppose I could get away with a brown numnah to go with her saddle?
