I don't really have a preference, although when I was a little girl I desperately wanted a bright orange chestnut Arab with four white socks and a blaze. :D The only colours I was never really keen on were piebald and skewbald, and now I have a piebald horse!

I can fully agree with Kub as I also have a coloured with lots of white! In my next life it will definately be a dark horse :) !

Always wanted a palomino, I guess my friedn Flicker has a lot to answe to :), now I like Chestnut, or black or bay, or grey, or coloured, OH I dont know, they are all lovely.

How about a roan, or a dun............ scratches head

Anything you don't see the mud on (ie not a grey like mine). Marble (roan) appaloosas are good! My friend has one and there are so many colours in her coat you never notice any muddy bits:)

Any dark colour really, black, bay or a lovely dark liver chestnut

So I ended up with a chestnut

LOL!! Me too, I have a black mare put her to a dark bay stallion = bright chestnut foal!!!!! Love him anyway, and actually dust in the coat (once mud dried and removed, still leaves dust!!) doesn't actually show up half as easily on a chestnut as it does in a black coat!!!!

I always go for greys - I've tried to resist the temptation but always come back to them. I've owned quite a few horses but never yet managed to get a "proper" colour - a skew, a palomino and all the rest have been grey!! I secretly love them :p

Dun!!!! I have one and he is gorgeous :D we get noticed every where we go which can be good or bad :o and he dosent show stains that much but that may be partly due to his dislike of mud :D

I have always loved bays but having had a chestnut i would have another. I have just bought another palomino. I dont like roans or fleabitten greys.

All the horses I have ever loved have been bay. Not sure why this is but it is true. Having said that, if I was looking for another horse, I wouldn't care what colour it was as long as it did what I wanted it to.

Waayyy back in the day my RC had a strawberry roan (name of Rusty, came across another called that to, must be a common combination). I love roans and coloureds and all unusual shades. :)
To the other lovely coloured horse owners: Do you have problems keeping white legs clean too? Next time it's a coloured with 4 dark legs not white ones!

I have a buckskin and I think it's the perfect colour!! A lovely rich shine in the summer that doesn't show up any dust from rolling. In the winter, the clipped colour has enough white in it to not show up grease but enough 'depth' to get a nice shine! perfect!

I love black horses and ended up with one though the colour wasn't on my list of must haves! :D

A classic dapple grey is always pretty. I like duns and steel greys too. And bright bays, and proper orange chestnuts too.

Ok any colour then! :p

I am a sucker for a Bay with white markings. Has to be a certain type, but I love them big and chunky and *drools* my horsey version of Prince Charming!

Instead, I got this:

Why I went for the Village Idiot after lusting after Prince Charming I'll never know.

Same here. I always envy my friends with chestnuts or bays when it comes to bathing and grooming, they spend quarter the time I do on my boy. :( But, I love greys, there is something about them that makes them stand out from all the rest. I'm just irresistably drawn to them for some reason! :)
