I have to admit why I put this poll up. I've always been a bit predjudice against coloured horses - (possibly looking a bit common-sorry!). However I've just seen a coloured sports horse for sale, and he's really turned my head.

on my third bay horse..........

but colour wasnt the reason why i bought her....

if i could be fussy though i want a chestnut or dapple grey! :D

I used to hate duns and like coloureds; now love duns (not mine today) and am only keen on the coloureds whose personailities I know - not fond of them after having had one.

Don't suppose you fancy turning your head to Village Idiot? :D Just for tonight anyway, he has been annoying the hell out of me today! I'll even make him patchy for you!! :D

Always wanted a dun! They're beautiful!

But when I was younger I remember always saying I wanted a totally black horse with a white star, and I would call him/her Blackjack.

I'm stuck with one of the hardest colours to keep clean now, I love my other one, except when she bathes her head in mud. :(

Ooo man non of them
bay eats to much hay
Black wees on his tack
coloured has an ugly bullhead
chestnut smells like a wet mut
and gray has a stupid neigh.

I like a nice roan, matches me phone.

I love proper golden duns - gorgeous, as are black horses :D

Although I really like bays, there are so many of them (that said, we own one) so I'd rather have something a bit different. At the moment, my pony is grey with black points (but these are fading) and he gets a nice light dapple in the summer - I love the colour :p The only thing is that they don't get quite the same shine as other colours can, and quarter marks don't show up quite so well.

When I'm buying a horse though, I don't really consider the colour when choosing TBH.

Yellow ones;) have 3

or Paints, have 8 of those right now

anything but bay or chestnut, but I have some of those too.:(

Always loved coloureds ever since I was little. I prefer skewbalds or tricoloureds. Both horses i've owned were/are skewbald. But if I had to choose a different colour I like liver chestnut with white stockings :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I have one of those! Only a pony though, and they call him a silver bay here;) I haven't had him tested so am not quite sure what colour he is correctly.

I love my bright bay, although would prefer him NOT to have white socks (he has two hind ones) and although I love his stripe down his face, why does he have to have a white/pink nose... I have to this day never manager to apply suntan lotion to it without me wearing more than him!

Silver bay is different to Skewbald, skewbald is any colour and white, piebald is black and white.

This is silver bay, solid brown body and a grey/white mane:

None of the above, I have a a dark dun and a dun/white and would not swap for the world, My GF has a funny coloured roan and he is gorgeous

mines bay, no white, looks so classy :D (or boring, depending on ones pov)
also have grey, and black, but prefer a nice bay
dont like chestnuts (have 2, lol)

Im not a coloured horse fan usually, but do like the look of a nice elegant sporthorse type coloured. Also not taken with apploosas, palominos and duns/buckskins (NeversayNever's horse is pretty though)

I have two duns, my favourite colour, it stands out but is easy to keep clean.

I have a chestnut, my second favourite colour, beautiful in the Autumn.

I have a coloured...nightmare to keep clean for competitions etc, especially in the winter :(

I love my piebald, but having owned a black horse prior to her - for purely cleaning reasons I'd prefer a dark coloured horse!!

I ticked coloured as there wasn't an option for Duns or Roans. I've got a Blue Roan and a Dun and wouldnt chage them for the world. Keeping them clean isn't as hard as people think... :)

I have always always wanted a piebald, not a hairy cob one tho', but a finer breed (nowadays I'd know that to be a WB or sport horse of some sort), more black than white, with a two tone mane and tail...

I also love dark dapple greys with a white mane and tail (I remember seeing a racehorse with that exact colouring once many years ago), palominos, and skewbald [esp bay and white]

My bhoy is chestnut - which isn't a colour I'd have sought out, but he's damn handsome!! :D

I don't have a preference re colour which is a good job really as ours are all different. As Mark Rashid said "a good horse is never a bad colour" and I agree entirely with that.

Having had a few different coloured horses - I would definately say that dark bay is definately my first choice for cleanliness! The dark bay I had was so easy to keep clean, was easy to be shiny and its a colour which always looks smart. The black horse I had was stunning when washed but he showed every bit of dust otherwise! I seem to have ended up with greys the most. A dark / dappled grey always attracts me which is why I end up with them, I always forget they turn white with age... My current horse is pretty much white nowadays and is hell to keep clean especially when I keep my horses out 24/7!

I love greys, all my horses have been grey even when I tried to buy another colour e.g dark bay was the horse I went to see... bought the grey that was also for sale instead. :o
My new grey has such expression in his face he's so funny. He has back features that contrasts the dapple grey.

Not however so funny when he's laid in his own poop and is covered head to toe :( I'm sure he's secretly wants to be a brown horse...

I would love a black horse.
