WOW! Ester he is beautiful! I assume he's a stallion? Is he your horse? Is he available for stud? I have a few friends with finer type mares that wouldn't mind breeding a decent cross! xx
OP - Jasper is lush, he has such a genuine kind eye and face! I would say he is skewbald because that's what wikipedia said lol!
My coloured in my signature has a chaps passport and it says he is a skewbald tobiano. He looks piebald in his winter coat, but in summer if you look really closely he is a very dark bay base colour, but can look black in photos! Everyone says he's piebald mind *rolls eyes* lol! Why didn't I just buy a chestnut, it would have made life much simpler! xx
My boy is down as bay tobiano on his passport. I looked up tobiano the other day and I've found it's the pattern of the colour, should look like a pot of paint has been dropped on them from above, which your boy does. Don't think my boy was classified as skewbald because he is 3 colours (brown, black and white) but not sure if that's right or not...
Btw, your boy is soooooo gorgeous!! I love the chunky ones hehe
lol rudey.... nope just pics I borrowed of google.
The top one is a pony stallion in ireland, the bottom one was for sale a while ago on dragon driving and is the best pink looking one I could find! I think he got posted before when talking about Blagdons previously
Very nice and this colour is prized by the gypsies. This colour is rare in the gypsy cob, hence why you rarely see them.
To be correct he is a dun tobiano skewbald. He would be a tri-coloured if he has a third patch of colour on his body, black on legs does not count. I say this as my trad is a bay tobiano and he has a black area on one leg and I had this clarified by both CHAPS and BSPA.
I would love to see him in the show ring - he would certainly stand out and with a bit of work looks like he could do well as he looks a lovely stamp of a trad.
Can i just ask when did we start using terms such as 'buckskin tobiano' and the like? Call me old fashioned!!

when the genetics of colouring started being discovered more and when someone wanted to describe the different patterns of coloured horses tobiano, overo etc. Though I suspect that started as a an american thing. I am wondering when the welsh started using sabino I think I can find them in the 1970s so a fair time.
I've had to clip his legs (GUTTED!) cos of a mite problem, but it's sorted now, so I'm gonna grow them back to their former glory!
Whatever colour he is, I love him loads. He is truly unique, and such a kind, loving boy. xxx
