what colour is she....?

You lot seem to know a bit about everything so here goes...

What colour do you think she is? She was very pink when born - hence why she got landed with the name Pinky - but now she doesn't really seem to be any one particular colour..! She is registered as a roan, but i have read that Tb's (she is exracer) geetically cannot be roan..

Over winter her winter coat was more grey.

This has been the subject of many conversations on my yard over the past few months, espacialy when we try to guess what colour she will end up as she is only 4...

Anyone had one this colour? What colour did it end up?

Definitely a grey - every year she will get a little lighter

In the close up photos she appears to be Rose Grey....but if she changes colour through the year then she could be Roan. Take your pick

Did she start off as a chestnutty colour? I had an arab that began as a chestnut, went through the rose grey stage and ended up pure white with chestnut fleabitten bits you would never have thought he was the same horse. I love greys, they are always changing. Bit of a pain on the Identification front though, get her branded or micro-chipped.

I'd put money on grey - eventually. The way her face is breaking up, and the fact it's not a solid colour says not roan. Sorry. Enjoy her lovely and unusual colour while it lasts.

Rose grey but will go greyer. My old mare was this colour till she was 6/7. She then got greyer and greyer and ended up flea bitten grey.

looks like bay roan, my friend has got one and he is forever changing colour! but yer tbs can't be roan so its rather strange. she looks like she might have another breed in her..?

She's rose-grey at the moment, and will go grey.

Loads of Arabs start off this pinky-grey colour and then go grey, so I've seen it many times. They always go grey, although some take longer than others.

She isn't roan cos her head isn't a solid colour - it is clearly greying out.

Another vote for grey if she's getting lighter every year. True roans change colour with their hair coats through the year but go back to the same colour each season.

It doesn't apply to this horse but some of the "roan" tb's are actually another colour (usually chestnut) with coat "patterns" like sabino. Check out some of these guys:
