yeah mine is dapple grey and i noticed that since we bought him (about 20 months ago) he has less dapples!!! lol
my mum was shocked when i told her that he was most probably born black or brown originally!! lolol
I get confused with this as my boy has ....as you can see bay points so I would say he's a very dark bay but he's listed as black on his passport, I always thought a "black" horse should be all black apart from some white allowed, socks, star, blaze etc. so if anyone can advise I'd be grateful

Plus a chesnut (mare!) and a yo that has a white head, steel grey neck, dappled grey tummy and chestnut bottom..... not sure WHAT that is!!!
amc - my horse is the same as yours. At the moment he is black all over, not a spot of brown on him, but in the summer he will go dark bay - almost a mahogany bay. I would always say he is a very dark bay - I believe genuinely black horses are actually quite rare!
