What colour numnah is correct?

For ANY horse showing you will either want to be completely without numnah, or with a discreet shaped numnah to match the tack. I use a brown fleece half pad.

so as my tack is black i should wear a black one then? as i used a white one the other day for a bto class is that ok?

It depends on the level you are showing at.

Basically you want the numnah to be discreet, not distract from the horse (or they'll wonder what you are trying to hide) or suggest that there is any hidden conformation issue or fitting problem with the saddle you are trying to conceal with pads.

At local level coloured (reasonably discreet) numnahs are fine. A white numnah can blend with the horse (if they're grey / coloured). But it can also highlight a dark saddle on a dark horse - although be sure your saddle fit is cosmetically excellent before drawing attention to it.

At higher levels you will need to match your numnah to the tack. But at local level there is more lee way.

thanks i thnk i will stick with my white numnah at the moment as hopefull getting a new brown saddle instead of black then i will get a nice one to match :)
