Last month I got a dapple grey Connemara horse.

I have never owned a dapple grey so I’m not too sure what colour he will suit.

I usually have my horses in colour schemes and I’ve chosen blue and black for this horse but I want a bit more variety.

I love le mieux so if anyone knows any colours from there that would suit him it would be great.

here’s him stood with his friend?

Think I'll stop now...

Just about anything suits a grey, apart from white, but I particularly like burgundy and teal. A deep purple can look lovely too.

If you are going to do dressage I suggest you get a neat numnah which matches the colour of your saddle. I have a mainly white coloured horse, and a white dressage square looks awful - one of them always looks dirty and it's usually the horse! So I have a black numnah, which matches my saddle. People sometimes tut at me because I don't have a white dressage square, but it's within the rules and I've passed several tack inspections at BD events. And no judge has ever turned a hair.

My sister has a dapple grey TB, quite similar in colour to yours, and I got her matching saddle pad and boots in the Le Mieux Ice Blue. It looks really good on a grey, and don't be fooled by the pictures, where it tends to look more grey.

I think deep, rich jewel colours look very well on greys. I also like the grey on grey look. The Beast wears a burnt orange dressage square because we like orange and it's the dressage square we bought Granny horse (white grey) for when she made an appearance at our wedding. Beast also looks good in hot pink. MrPF particularly loves riding her when she's in her hot pink saddle cloth. ?

I think the blueberry would look great, it does on HP's lovely horse. I think the silver grey and orchid look really nice too. Navy suits greys well if you want something more classic, also burgundy. I'd steer clear of anything in brown/beige/yellow and similar warmer tones.

Rosietaz, thanks for the steer to Dress my Horse app. I have been umming and ahrring over whether to go black or grey with my bay. Seeing both on her has convinced me that black is a better match. She is currently in a cornflower coloured pad (Le Mieux seems to have discontinued this colour, annoyingly, it is darker than their Ice Blue) but as it seems I am in good company with having more than 4 saddle pads for one saddle, I am okay to admit to 'moving on' from this colour.

I hate to admit that I have between 20-30 saddle pads ?
