I'm wanting to do dressage with him but I'm not quite sure whether to buy black tack or havana and does anyone know of any good online tack shops? :)

My Chesnut ID x looks best in Havana tack. The black just is a bit too harsh against his gingerness! It probably depends on how ginger he is but having used both my preference is definatly Brown. Numnah wise the best so far has been white, dark green, navy and grey.

Yes, I'd agree, don't like black against a chestnut coat and i use white numnah's.

I have a chestnut and my bridle is very very dark brown, with oiling it etc it is virtually black. I love it on my boy. I think you need to be careful as it depends on what shade of chestnut and what colour brown, I know it sounds daft! I was watching olympia and alot of chestnuts had brown tack and it looked awful.

My chestnut boy has Havana coloured tack which I think looks great. Black is a bit harsh against his orangeness! As for numnahs or colours in general I think chocolate/brown with cream piping looks fab in numnahs, rugs, boots etc.
