What colour tack?

What colour tack would you buy?

As a child everything was brown & i disliked it. Now I've always bought black but was asked today what I would put on 4yo (right) below? And I didn't have a answer. His soon to get his own wardrobe so what do you think suits.

black would suit him but if they want to show brown is still seen by some as being the correct colour for them to wear.

He will never be shown. The coloured is 17 month and he is just turned 4yo. His funny mouth is because his eating a carrot.

A good, dark, neutral brown makes a black horse look blacker, amazing how many Fells etc owners think they want black when they book me (we only make black saddles to order) but then love how a very dark brown looks on them. Brown leather is more traditional for the showring as said, but also it generally wears slightly better. I have had a brown dressage saddle for years
