What colour will he be?

You may well have a smoky black there. He has fawn colour hairs on the insides of his ears which are often an indicator of smoky black. However, they could also just be because he is so young. But based on his parents' colours, I am betting on smoky black.

Shetland people tend to call smokey black's Muddy black's - due the wee beasts usually being covered in the stuff lol! True black's are getting rarer and rarer in Shetlands these days unfortunately. I currently have 3 true black's and 2 muddy black's. Our stallion is a true black, my gelding is a cross between him and another true black but my others all had muddy black dams and unfortunately kept the muddy theme going. The other true black we have is a lovely big mare who shall be bred from in time, hopefully to our stallion though the pairing may produce something too bbig

I have been away without Internet access so didn't see that others had kindly replied - thank you! Will try and post a picture of his sister when we are back as our neighbours were so taken by Hustle that they got one too, and she is utterly adorable as well and is a gorgeous buckskin. I am personally loving the phrase "muddy black" as I doubt that he is destined to be one of life's immaculate people!!
