Should a Bright Chestnut (read ORANGE

) wear?
Tack colour, and numnahs etc??

My mare who is red and white wears newmarket tan tack , and has beige , brown and light blue numnahs , boots etc .
but she does tend to go with any colour except RED and YELLOW theyre the worst =D

This is Sol in her tack

Brown tack looks so much better then black.

I use *cough* purple *cough* on my ginger nut

but he also looks good in navy blue, bright blue or maroon

i would definately say black tack, good contrasting colours

i see it this way- chestnut horse and similar coloured tack is equal to wearing the same colour top and trousers that are slightly different shades (IMO doesnt go)
but in no way shape or form do i claim to know what i am talking about and it is personal preference!

Why do you ask? do you mean for showing?, to look stylish in the jumping ring or is it for XC colors?

I'm just curious really. New horse, who is a chestnut. if I am going to be buying him stuff in the future, i want it to look okay.
As we will be doing a bit of everything, then I need it to look okay in whatever we decide to do!

Deffo brown tack (not a big fan of black tack anyway!!) for my two gingers I have mainly bottle green and navy blue but have discovered in the past few weeks that baby blue and also purple go pretty well. I have an old school rambo travel set of green rug etc edged in purple and white and it looks fab

Always had black tack on my ginger mare - and brightyellow numnah and bandages - to match my horse lorry!

She looked very smart in all yellow - and great for visibility on the road!!

I've got a bright chestnut - but he ahs red tones rather than orange. He has dark brown tack with mainly blue accessories, his rugs are all blue but in various shades apart from baby blue, he has saddlecloths in black, navy and bottle green and he has a sage green and cream headcollar - I know that sounds horrible but it looks good on him! So I'd go for blue and green with a chestnut. Only coloursI really wouldn't go for are red and pink.

Havannah tack, not the new brown!

Any colours except red, yellow, purple, orange or PINK!!! You cannae beat any shade of blue though

hmmm I'd stay away from red/orange

Royal blue looks nice on gingers

White boots, saddle cloth will always look smart and give you that proffessional look with plain brownband.

Also brown saddle cloth, brown leather boots etc compliment a chestnut.

As for your leatherwork, that very dark liver brown tack for chestnuts.

personally brown tack on EVERYTHING except black horses!!!!!!

there are plenty of shades from newmarket (although not the cheap orange and deeper browner shade) to dark havana!

My horse is chestnut (read ORANGE! Actually nicknamed big orange pony) and I always had brown tack and blue accessories. He did however have a yellow stable rug that I got as an incredible bargain, and that didn't look too bad at all on him!
