Im delving into the world of showing this year with my maxi coblet... Just bought a jacket today, but im unsure about what colour tie will be best suited. The photo hasn't quite captured the colour properly, so think more sage green when looking at the photo :)

It has a navy and canary overcheck on it with a navy, although its so dark it looks black, velvet insert on the collar...

Suggestions anyone? God you can tell I'm a noob at showing lol

Hiya

How about a gold tie & pale yellow/ cream shirt? Then gold tie pin and collar pin? Many riders use colours in the jacket to tie in the shirts etc :)

Keep us posted on how you go on xx

That sounds like a good combination :) I was looking on line at photos of cob classes and quite a few people seem to steer towards red ties, but I don't think that will go with the jacket at all... x

My cob is vey similar to yours but 4 white socks all round, but my jacket has burnt orange & yellow through it, hence my tie is burnt orange and the shirt is cream.

May I request some tack pictures with you in your gear? I'm always up for a snoop at lovely coblets :D xx

Make sure your chosen shirt is paler than your jods, cream I think with a navy spotted with gold tie and canary jods would look very smart.

Aww thank you so much guys for your advice :)

I can't wait to get my gear on now and head out to our first show... will keep you guys updated with progress & pics :) x

That jacket is so nice! Where's it from?

I reckon something like pale gold would be very smart... Google images says anything goes though, from bright red to dark blue and everything in between regardless of jacket colour :D

Thanks again, some great suggestions there... Now, which one to go for :)

I got the jacket from '1624 Equine Couture' never even heard of them until Monday when I was looking for jackets online and I came across them, rang them to check they had my size before ordering online and the jacket arrived just after lunch the following day, they were very helpfull on the phone and the delivery service was very very quick, would deffo recommend them... AND they have a sale on right now with some amazing bargains on all of the top branded gear!!!

Oh best of luck! I have a maxi too!

I agree what you said about the "loads of red ties" comment - I assume it is to try to catch the judge's eye but I saw someone with an orange tie and that looked nice and a bit different.

I raided my OHs tie rack last weekend and found a nice lilac one! He he!

We managed to qualify for C&T, Equifest and Royal London too so couldn't have looked that bad!
